GOPDD: Bolton: China May Soon Have ‘Hands Around the Throats’ Of Vital U.S. Allies

(Breitbart) Former Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton discussed the threat of expansionist China on Breitbart News Daily with host Stephen K. Bannon, who has personal experience with the region.

AUBURN — Sheriff Eric Samson raised the possibility Wednesday of three towns shifting their emergency dispatch services to Androscoggin County.

 

Samson advised county commissioners that he is cautiously optimistic about the new revenue stream and sought their guidance moving forward.

The county, however, would have to spend money upfront to upgrade its system, which could reach into the tens of thousands of dollars.
The availability of $21,000 from an Emergency Operations Center grant would help offset some of the initial costs, said Emergency Management Agency Director Joanne Potvin.
The three towns are Sabattus, Wales and Durham.
The Sheriff's Department has tried for the past few years to consolidate dispatching service in the county, with little success.

“No American citizen should ever have to suffer this indignity,” Leo Perrero said in a statement Friday, referring to being laid off and forced to train a foreign replacement. He and one of the other workers Disney laid off will officially endorse Trump at a rally in Alabama Sunday, reported the Tampa Bay Times.

GOPDD: Congress Passes Law Permanently Banning Internet Taxes

(Via Daily Caller) In a 75-20 vote Thursday, the Senate agreed to place a permanent ban on state and local Internet taxes.
A provision in a larger bipartisan customs bill – the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act – that would force states to phase out the tax by 2020.
Congress had passed a number of temporary bans since 1998, but this bill, which the White House confirmed will be signed into law, would bar the levy for good.

GOPDD: One More State Is Now Forcing Welfare Recipients To Work For Their Benefits. Do You Agree?

Starting on Friday January 8, able-bodied welfare recipients in 23 counties in North Carolina will only receive government benefits if they work. 

For those adults receiving support from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, they must work, train, or volunteer at least 20 hours per week to continue receiving support from the government. 

Recipients have 90 days after the new rule takes effect to get a job and find an opportunity to work.
