Some in the media will call this a "deal." It's not. It's a face-saving, time-buying charade -- an implicit admission that years of repeatedly-extended negotiations have resulted in nothing concrete, with yet another deadline disappearing in the rearview mirror. Consider this tortured verbiage provided to the Associated Press:

Iran and six world powers have agreed on the outlines of an understanding to limit Iran's nuclear programs, officials told The Associated Press Thursday. Negotiations continued on a dispute over how much of it to make public. The officials spoke outside weeklong talks that have been twice extended past the March 31 deadline in an effort to formulate both a general statement of what has been accomplished and documents describing what needs to be done to meet a June 30 deadline for a final accord...The Iranians want any results from talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne described less as a deal and more of an informal understanding … Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who left Lausanne Tuesday, said the two sides were close, the Interfax news agency reported. There are "only a few steps left to take or, in some cases, even-half steps, and some things have already been agreed upon," he said. But as the talks dragged on, one Western official said early Thursday that they were "at a tough moment and the path forward is really unclear," adding that the idea of breaking talks off over Passover and Easter and resuming them next week had been informally raised. TWO MUSLIM women connected to ISIS/al-Qaeda arrested for planning to detonate explosive device in NYC

Two Muslim female roommates in Queens, NY have been charged with planning to build a bomb that they wanted to detonate in New York City.

NY Times Federal authorities have arrested two women who were allegedly planning to detonate a bomb in the New York City area after being radicalized by ISIS..

The roommates, Asia Siddiqui, 31 and Noelle Velentzas, 28, both United States citizens, were named in a complaint unsealed on Thursday in Federal District Court in Brooklyn.

We Are All Flying on the Germanwings Plane

Crash Position

The pilot was locked out of the cockpit. 

That phrase finally revealed the full horror of the crash of Germanwings flight 9525. Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz waited for the pilot to leave the cockpit, then locked the door to prevent his re-entry. After which Lubitz, for reasons unknown and perhaps unknowable, deliberately steered the jet into a harrowing 8-minute plunge ending in an explosive 434 mph impact with a rocky mountainside.
150 men, women and children met an immediate, unthinkably violent death.

Lubitz, in his single-minded madness, couldn't be stopped because anyone who could change the jet's disastrous course was locked out. 

It's hard to imagine the growing feelings of fear and helplessness that the passengers felt as the unforgiving landscape rushed up to meet them.

Hard ... but not impossible.

Because America is in trouble. We feel the descent in the pits of our stomachs. We hear the shake and rattle of structures stressed beyond their limits. We don't know where we're going anymore, but do know it isn't good. And above all, we feel helpless because Barack Obama has locked us out.

He locked the American people out of his decision to seize the national healthcare system. Locked us out when we wanted to know why the IRS was attacking conservatives. He locked us out of having a say in his decision to tear up our immigration laws, and to give over a trillion dollars in benefits to those who broke those laws.

Obama locked out those who advised against premature troop withdrawals.
Locked out the intelligence agencies who issued warnings about the growing threat of ISIS.  He locked out anyone who could have interfered with his release of five Taliban terror chiefs in return for one U.S.
military deserter.

And, of course, Barack Obama has now locked out Congress, the American people, and our allies as he strikes a secret deal with Iran to determine the timeline (not prevention) of their acquisition of nuclear weapons.

Was Andreas Lubitz depressed, insane, or abysmally evil when he decided to lock that cockpit door and listen to no voices other than those in his head?
Did he somehow believe himself to be doing the right thing?

The voice recordings from the doomed aircraft reveal that as the jet began its rapid descent, the passengers were quiet. There was probably some nervous laughter, confusion, a bit of comforting chatter with seatmates, followed by a brief period in which anxiety had not yet metastasized into terror.

It was only near the end of the 8-minute plunge that everyone finally understood what was really happening. Only near the end when they began to scream. 

Like those passengers, a growing number of Americans feel a helpless dread as they come to the inescapable conclusion that our nation's decline is an act of choice rather than of chance. The choice of one man who is in full control of our 8-year plunge.

A man who has locked everyone out.

Iranian Journalist Defects, Says US Team Speaking for Iran

Amir Hossein Motaghi, an Iranian journalist, defected during the P5+1 nuclear talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, according to a British Telegraph report.

The Senate Just Scored This Huge Victory Against Obama

The US Senate voted 100-0 –  on Senator Kirk’s amendment to reimpose sanctions on the Iranians if they get caught cheating on a deal.

 The nonbinding language is grounded in a section on violations written into the Kirk-Menendez legislation, which more broadly increases pressure on Iran if they fail to sign on to a deal that puts their atomic program beyond use for weaponization. The effect of the vote was to put the entire Senate on record supporting the principles of Kirk-Menendez.The AFP quickly moved to describe the vote as “US Senate threatens Iran with new sanctions“. Note that just a few days ago Democrats had been blocking the measure.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL WORKSHOP/MEETING – MARCH 31ST

Last night, the Town Council conducted a workshop on Stormwater Management Program.  There was a presentation by Phil Ruck educating everyone on this program because Lisbon has been added to the MS4 program.

What this means to the residents of Lisbon is that the Federal government has implemented a Stormwater program.  This new program has numerous requirements but absolutely no funding.  Lisbon is going to be required to comply without any additional funding from the state or Federal government.  The town is aggressive working to meet all of these requirements.  At the state level, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is overseeing the municipalities and is working hand and hand to assist towns.  However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the Federal government is conducting audits and providing fines for items not in compliance.

After the presentation and a small break, the Town Council came back into a Special Meeting to discuss Public Works Heavy Duty Truck Financing.  The vote was 7-0 to approve the Town Manager or the Finance Director to negotiate with Kennebec Saving Bank to execute a Promissory Note for $52,669.00 at 2.39% for 4 years.

THE IMPACT OF A 2% COLA

With the financial situation the Town of Lisbon is in; there is a need to take a closer look at what our tax dollars are being used for. 
   
Is there a possibility the Department Heads are receiving salaries that the taxpayers cannot afford?   

Let’s look at the impact 2% COLA increase for Department Head has on the taxpayers.

This is 13 department heads receiving a COLA increase of $16,670.20 which means that all but two receive over $1,000.00 increase in their pay for next year.  Are any of our citizens receiving $1,000.00 pay raises in one year?  This has been going on for several years.  The majority of our department head’s salaries have blossomed to more than the taxpayers can afford.

In the Police Department, their salaries are growing more than the town can afford.   Here is a prime example:

This means that 13 out of the 32 individuals on the Police Department roster are making over $50,000.00.  This would not mean much except 12 of the staff are Reserve Personnel.  This is why the Police Department budget is almost 25% of the entire Municipal Budget.

 By the way, in the proposed budget for the Police Department, the Police Chief identified only 28 of the 32 on his staff.  Who is paying the other 4?  Where are these accounted for in the budget?

 Our community cannot afford these 2% COLA or wage increases for the top echelon.  Is there any wonder our municipal budget is steadily going up along with our taxes.

Nixonian Hillary Wiped Her Server (Rush Limbaugh)

RUSH: How about Mrs. Clinton? You know, there’s some stories now starting to pop up. It isn’t now just me pointing out that Mrs. Clinton is who she is because of who she married, and it isn’t just me pointing out that Mrs. Clinton is owed the presidency because of how she kept Bill in office. Now, I’m not mentioned in any of these stories, but there are more and more of these stories popping up about Hillary’s loyalty to the party and her loyalty to Bill and how that is the reason she’s being rewarded with presumptive nominee status. That’s what guided her in 2008, and that’s what’s supposedly behind her candidacy in 2016.

But more and more people are starting to pop up and point this out. And I love it. Doesn’t matter that nobody is mentioning that I said it first. I don’t care about that. The fact is this is starting to gain momentum. And here’s something else gaining momentum. It has now been learned that Mrs. Clinton totally wiped her e-mail server. After telling us she couldn’t wait for the State Department to make her e-mails public, after telling everybody she wanted people to see her e-mails, we have now come to find out that she deleted every e-mail she did not turn over. She totally erased the server.

Pres Candidate Dennis Michael Lynch Has A Different Solution For The Illegal Alien Problem – You’re Gonna Like It

Long shot political outsider and 2016 Presidential Candidate Dennis Michael Lynch has a different approach to the problem of illegal aliens in the United States. While most other candidates adopt the “shut the border first and I’ll be vague on what to do next” approach, Lynch is willing to declare his position in favor of the American citizens.

Lynch points out that in 1986, President Ronald Reagan and the American people were under the belief that legalizing one million illegals aliens inside the United States, followed by strict enforcement, would solve the problem. There were a couple of problems with that approach, though, the number of illegals was about four times that many and the border was never subsequently secured. It’s been almost thirty years now and the problem has never truly been disposed of.

Republican Gov. Paul LePage of Maine decided that he had to stop the “abuse” of welfare in his state concerning the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

 LePage decided that in order for non-disabled residents to receive SNAP benefits that they would be required to work at least twenty hours per week, volunteer or attend vocational training. (great idea, don’t you think?)

Lisbon Got Talent Show Rocks!‏

LISBON TALENT SHOW ROCKED THE RAFTERS

 The annual Lisbon High School (LHS) Got Talent Show rocked the rafters in the LHS Gymnasium on Friday, March 27.  The show, produced by The Lisbon Tech Club, provided ticket goers with their money’s worth.   Acts were masterfully performed by students during the event on the campus at 2 Sugg Drive in Lisbon Falls.  Pictured front row: (l-r) Ciera Miller, Hannah Stritch, Bree Daigle, Loren Grant, Molly Nicholson, Hailey Kaherl.  Back row:  Noah Watts-Thiboutot, Teagan Stritch, RJ Sargent, Alesha Bard, Selena Cordner, Garrett Caton, Andrew Balser, Max Poulin, Michelle Martin, Travis Caton, and Eric Yim.

Lisbon – Lisbon High School stage transformed into a show-stopping platform for picture-perfect performances during the Lisbon Got Talent Show.  Tech Club members sponsored the event and held true to their promise of providing an exciting evening of entertainment.  Michelle Martin and Max Poulin served as Mistress and Master of Ceremony throughout the evening introducing a variety of acts.  The Wheel of Misfortune was provided by Michelle Martin, Max Poulin, Loren Grant, Cosette Holmes and Molly Nicholson.  Eric Yim came in with a bang with his drum solo.  Other performances included Hailey Kaherl singing Cry With You, by Hunter Hayes; Alesha Bard’s dance solo; Hannah and Teagan Stritch performed a brother/sister act of Bring Me to Life by Evanescence.  Charles Adams shared a movie he produced and Zachary Morin performed as Zach the Great.  Multimedia productions with Jib Jab were presented by Sean Ball, Josh Collier, Gabe Edgin, JD Martin, Jeff Willey, Monica Austin, Loren Grant, Taylor Martin, Molly Nicholson and Lily Wade.  Noah Watts-Thiboutot shared a guitar solo; Ciera Miller sang How to Save a Life by The Fray.  The grand finale routine of the Fashion Squad was shared by the talents of Charles Adams, Kyle Bourget, Andrew Golino, Jacob Muldering and RJ Sargent.

WHY IS A TOXIC BOSS ALLOWED TO BULLY OUR EMPLOYEES?

The former Town Manager, Stephen Eldridge, cared nothing for this community and made decisions with the Council’s approval that has hurt the community.  These decisions were NOT in the best interest of the town. 

One of these decisions was to assign Mr. Leighton as the Director of Public Works.  Prior to this assignment, Mr. Leighton had never supervised anyone.  He was the Town Engineer and worked alone.  This lack of experience leading individuals has caused him to become a “toxic boss”.  For a definition of a toxic boss, please see attached.

 

Public Works had been operating with Button Beal as the Director.  During the time Mr. Beal was in charge, the employees worked as a family. They were a cohesive working group with little to no problems.  The moral was extremely high and everything operated at a high level of efficiency.  Today, this is not the case and the department is suffering in efficiency and moral.

Call the Town Manager and your Councilors to get rid of this toxic boss and restore the efficiency and the moral to Public Works.

WHY IS THE TOWN MANAGER PROTECTING HIM?

We have all seen the letter from the State of Maine stating Mr. Leighton cannot use the title as Town Engineer any longer because he is NOT an engineer.  Attached is the response from Town Manager. 

If you notice, Mr. Leighton was not relieved as the Town Engineer, only that the Engineer was taken out of his title.  He was never relieved as Town Engineer and will continue to receive the same salary even though he is not qualified.  This is $20,270.00 tax dollars plus benefits that could be saved.

I cannot comprehend how Mr. Leighton can remain in the position as Town Engineer when he is clearly not qualified and is paid with our tax dollars when the state acknowledges Mr. Leighton is not an engineer.

Also, did you know that Mr. Leighton is currently the Director of the Treatment Plant drawing $20,270.00 of our tax dollars?  This is significant because our Treatment Plant is rated by the state as a Grade Four plant and Mr. Leighton has only a Grade Two certification.  What this means is that Mr. Leighton cannot operate the treatment facility.  In fact, he cannot sign any of the reports going to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) or any other state agency.  All our reports going to the state are signed by the Treatment Plant Operations Manager.  So why are we wasting another $20,270.00 of our tax dollars?

But the bigger question is, why is the town hiring personnel who do not have the credentials to do the job?  I understand that Mrs. Barnes has only been here a short time, but this town needs to put a stop to this hiring practice and recoup our tax dollars from the unqualified.  The Town Manager and the Town Council needs to keep a closer eye on our tax dollars.  Wasting our tax dollars on individuals whom do not have the credentials for the position should never occur.

Please contact your Town Manager and Town Councilors and let them know that this is unacceptable.  In this case alone, the Town Manager and the Town Council could save the town over $40,000.00 of our tax dollars.

A few days ago, Michelle travelled to the Kiyomizu-Dera Buddhist Temple and the Fushimi Inari Shinto Shrine in Kyoto, Japan, and these visits did not come cheap. Reports reveal that Michelle spent $78,741 on rental cars for this visit alone.

This isn’t the first time Michelle Obama has spent tons of American money on herself, and it won’t be the last.

The war started in the 7th century and lasted through the 17th.  I would contend it never stopped but historically the facts below are correct. This is why I choke when I hear someone say we will defeat or contain these Islamic terrorists in a few years or even 30 years as recently stated by Leon Panetta.

If the latest batch of murders, beheadings, and killing of innocent Christians has shocked you, maybe you should read this compilation of historical facts about the hatred of Muslims.

WE, THE STUPID

This is all factually (and historically) correct - and verifiable:

In 732 AD the Muslim Army which was moving on Paris was defeated and turned back at Tours, France, by Charles Martell. In 1571 AD the Muslim Army/ Navy was defeated by the Italians and Austrians as they tried to cross the Mediterranean to attack southern Europe in the Battle of Lapanto.

In 1683 AD the Turkish Muslim Army, attacking Eastern Europe, was finally defeated in the Battle of Vienna by German and Polish Christian Armies.

This crap has been going on for 1,400 years and half of the politicians don't even know it.

If these battles had not been won we might be speaking Arabic and Christianity could be non-existent; Judaism certainly would be, and let us not forget that Hitler was an admirer of Islam and that the Mufti of Jerusalem was Hitler's guest in Berlin and raised Bosnian Muslim SS Divisions: the 13th and 21st Waffen SS Divisions who killed Jews, Russians, Gypsies, and any other "Sub-Humans".

Reflecting:
A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.

Pause a moment, reflect back. These events are actual events from history. They really happened!  Do you remember?

1.   In 1968, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male.

2.   In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim males.

3.   In 1972 a Pan Am 747 was hijacked and eventually diverted to Cairo where a fuse was lit on final approach. It was blown up shortly after landing by Muslim males.

4.   In 1973 a Pan Am 707 was destroyed in Rome, with 33 people killed, when it was attacked with grenades by Muslim males.

5.   In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim males.

6.   During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim males.

7.   In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim males.

8.   In 1985, the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim males.

9.   In 1985, TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim males.

10.               In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim males.

11.               In 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim males.

12.               In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim males.

13.               On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim males.

14.               In 2002, the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim males.

15.               In 2002, reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by - you guessed it was a Muslim male. (Plus two other American journalists were just beheaded).

16.               In 2013, Boston Marathon Bombing 4 Innocent people including a child killed, 264 injured by Muslim males.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.

So, ask yourself "Just how stupid are we???"

Absolutely No Profiling! They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old, Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males, alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Ask yourself "Just how stupid are we?  "Have the American people completely lost their minds or just their Power of Reason???

Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Alreds and other stupid attorneys, along with Federal Justices, that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if  they have any such sense. As the writer of the award winning story  'Forrest Gump' so aptly put it, 'Stupid Is As Stupid Does'.
