This Is OUR Town! THEY WORK FOR US!

Dear Editor,

I went to my first town meeting on July 1st. I am not a political person, but I went to support the recreation director who has tirelessly given to this town. I could not believe what I walked into.

I couldn’t believe the total disregard that was given to the citizens of this town. I don’t say that lightly. It is unfathomable to me that the chairman of the town council, who WORKS FOR THE PEOPLE of LISBON, rolled her eyes as frequently as she did at almost EVERY PERSON who got up to speak. I have NEVER seen anyone as condescending as she is. I don’t even need to name her, because you all know who I am talking about. As I said, I am not political, but I wonder how she got there to begin with? The town has every right to be angry, and from what I understand, they certainly are.

It blew me away when Mr. Stevens was speaking how she was obviously writing something down for the Town Manager to look at. I just wanted to jump up and see what it was. Perhaps something making a further mockery of those she works for??? Her behavior was disgusting.

I couldn’t help but feel so disappointed when I left there. I asked ‘who is the Town Managers’ boss?', only to hear that ultimately it’s the town council. It’s a defeating feeling when he’s not accountable to anyone. He who hires people with less experience then their predecessor, yet pays them thousands more. He who has a vendetta out on people who work hard and he who will pull out all the stops to see that his life is made miserable while he’s in the process of figuring out how to get rid of him, and he who coddles those who are in the clan, allowing them to slander their boss on town time and to, let’s just say ‘getting to know people’ on town time. It’s like a high school and Mr. Eldridge is the bully.

This town needs to clean up! Take out the garbage once and for all, and DON’T GIVE UP until it’s done. There are enough of us out there that are unified! We can’t settle, and there is more than one culprit and we all know it. I can think of 3 off the top of my head……….how ‘bout you????

I would like to say that Dale Crafts was amazing. He is what EVERY council member should strive to be like. He is there for the right reasons! We are so lucky to have him representing our town! THANK YOU DALE!!!!

We need to make this crooked town straight again! Keep in touch with the blog, reach out to your neighbors, email one another! Keep at it! This is OUR town!!! THEY WORK FOR US!
