Dear Editor,
I would like to thank L. Pomelow for speaking out at the July 15, 2008 Town Council meeting and for having her perspective printed and published in the Lisbon Reporter on 07/25/2008. Members of the Advisory Board are entrusted with overseeing town finances. They work hard and are entitled to respect by our Town Manager and Town Council. Town residents and taxpayers rely on the Advisory Board to keep spending in check, so our tax dollars are spent wisely, and not frivolously. This cannot be done unless they are provided information on budget transfers in a timely manner. Or is this the intent? It would certainly appear to be.
