Food Safety Bill Celebrates Win, but Faces New Battle From the People

CHICAGO, IL | The battle for "food safety" celebrated a win in Tuesday night but the real losers were the American people. The bill known as the "Food Safety Modernization Act" S.510 swept the Senate floor by a 48 vote margin. Of the most notable votes whose outcomes were most unexpected were maverick John McCain and Tea Partier Scott Brown. McCain voted against the big government bill in a likely effort to avoid explaining himself on the campaign trail in 2012, while Brown clearly deviated once again from his claimed "Tea Party" roots by voting to squash the rights of Farmers and the inevitable rise of food prices for the poor.

The Natural Solutions Foundation released this statement, "Sen Coburn said the bill will raise food prices; add 1.5 billion to deficit; add unfunded state mandates. It will not increase food safety one bite."

The voices echoing off the walls of the Senate chambers were not the only ones in DC that night. Organizations from across the political landscape mobilized the grassroots in a unifying call to oppose the Bill. Among the national action groups who rallied the troops were Downsize DC, Campaign for Liberty, American Policy Center and Restore the Republic.

Blogs and youtubes set modems ablaze and caused increased internet traffic across the web as websites like Natural News and Health Freedom Foundation pumped out the facts.

In response to the call to action a flurry of phones calls, emails and FAXes flooded Washington DC and inundated the Senate Staffers. Most notably was the volume of hard paper FAXes delivered by Restore the Republic's new FAX Blast service at PatriotResponse.com

In a interview, Ali Rizvi, CEO of GripeGenine, the technology partner for PatriotResponse.com reported, "We've delivered 904 FAXes, so far, for the Patriot Response Oppose S. 510 campaign."

Gary Franchi the Campaign Manager and Founder of PatriotResponse.com stated, "The Opposition Campaign to S.510 has dominated our actions thus far, showing how important this issue is to the American people."

Rizvi continued, "Since the site launch we have delivered a total of 1743 FAXes for Patriot Responders."

Understanding, but not accepting the defeat in the Senate, Franchi declared, "We will not let this pass, it's moving to the House now, and we're prepared to fight it there too, the new Campaign has already been created."

Referring to the new opposition campaign at

Rizvi spoke of the next phase of the Patriot Response website plan, "The GripeGenie team is committed to doing whatever it takes to deliver on our promise to provide the same FAX Blast access to State Legislative bodies."

"Nullification is the key once all remedies are exhausted at the Federal level, and we're very close to taking our fight there," Franchi remarked between productions of his weekly show the Reality Report.

Rizvi concluded, "The numbers of activists participating, and faxes getting to Congress in just a month's time are very encouraging. We are proud to be a partner with Restore the Republic and its members of the Freedom Movement."
