LISBON’S PHILIP W. SUGG MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVE PRESITGIOUS AWARDS



Philip W. Sugg students Andrew Golino and Molly Nicholson were awarded the Middle Level Scholar Leader Awards during a May 19 banquet at the Augusta Civic Center. Students were accompanied by Principal, Kate Race; Assistant Principal, and Tom Landberg.  Each student had a opportunity to invite a teacher who they felt had a profound impact on their development and academic success.   Heather Wilmot was the guest of Golino and David Thorne was the guest of Nicholson. Lisbon – Andrew Golino and Molly Nicholson  students at Philip W. Sugg Middle School in Lisbon Falls, were presented with the Middle Level Scholar Leaders Award at a banquet on May 19, 2011 at the Augusta Civic Center.  The criteria for the award included demonstrating academic initiative and scholarship, providing service to classmates and school, exemplifying positive attitudes and demonstrating leadership in the classroom and school activities.  Andrew is the son of Stephanie and John Golino of Lisbon Falls and Molly is the daughter of Christine and Daniel Nicholson of Lisbon Falls.

Over 375 students, educators, and parents attended the banquet to celebrate the achievements of the middle level students who are representative of the many fine young adolescents in all middle level schools in the State of Maine.  Seventy-eight students from 39 schools were honored at the 12th annual event organized by the Maine Association for Middle Level Education (MAMLE) and the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) with supporting sponsorship from Lifetouch National School Studios.
