Thanks for the giving of the volunteers
Unfortunately, this is the time of year when the grand standing and glory seeking individuals come out of the woodwork. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all we have received and should not be used as a photo opportunity for low-life local and state politicians.
The many volunteers, who work very hard in the preparation of the Thanksgiving meal, should be the ones receiving all the credit for their efforts. These people are the ones peeling potatoes, making stuffing, slaving over a hot stove for hours on end in order to provide less fortunate individuals with a great meal.
Instead, politicians such as State, Town Council members, and the Town Manager come in to serve the meal and get their pictures taken and then leave after the meal is served. The volunteers are left cleaning up and doing all the dishes. The volunteers are the ones whose picture should be taken because they are the true heroes here.
