RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – NOVEMBER
18TH
At last night’s Town Council
meeting, it was testy at times and very emotional at other times.
Under Council Orders,
Resolutions & Ordinances – The following items were approved by a vote of
7-0.
a.
Amend Ch. 70 Zoning Ordinance Division 5 Signs
(First Reading).
b.
Repeal Ch. 62
Site Plan Sec. 62-169 Signs (First Reading).
c.
Engineering &
Design Scope for CDBG for $32,500.00.
d.
PSAP Contract.
e.
Purchasing
Policy.
f.
Tax Club Policy.
g.
Solicit bids for
Natural Gas.
The following was approved
without a vote for a Public Hearing on December 16, 2014 on Slum & Blight
designation under CDBG program. Also, by
a vote of 6-1 the Council approved the Vehicle Use Policy with Councilor
Brunelle with the NO vote.
Under Other Business – The
Finance Director presented the monthly financial report. The Economic Community Development Director
presented the financial report for the Moxie Festival. Mr. Green updated the Council and the people
on what is happening with the bid process on the gym. And finally the Town
Manager updated the progress of the Public Works garage which appears to be
going in under cost by approximately $150,000.00 because Public Works personnel
have been doing the majority of the work.
Also, the Town Clerk confirmed and the Council approved the recount for
the School Board position by 7-0. Gina
Mason received 35 write-in votes and Dean Willey received 17 write-in
votes. Gina Mason will be our newest
School Board member.
Under Appointments – Mr.
Allen Ward is appointed to the Recreation Committee. Mr. Sean Scully was appointed as the Civil
Constable and finally the Council accepted Tyler Golletti resignation from the
Planning Board.
Under Councilor Communication
– Chairwoman Liza Ward provided an emotional farewell address. Thank you Liza for your service!
