Judge Jeanine is less than impressed with the regime’s new, sensitive, touchy-feely approach to fighting the war on terror. She goes down the long list of attacks and foiled attempts from around the globe, and points to the idiocy of releasing terrorists in the face of the increased activity. She notes the five Gitmo prisoners released this week were from the hotbed of the latest attacks, Yemen. She also challenges the reassurances that the regime gives us that only 6% of the terrorists return to fight us again, noting the Director of National Intelligence has a number five times that figure.

She asks why we don’t have sanctions in place for violations of the conditions of release, citing an example of a criminal parole violation in the justice system. She says that whatever nation agreed to be responsible for ensuring that terrorists don’t return to the battlefield must be held to account if they do and recommends the cutting off of U.S. “aid” money as the penalty.

A Maine Supreme Judicial Court justice has ordered the withdrawal of a public reprimand of a Portland lawyer in a high-profile mortgage foreclosure scandal involving a practice called “robo-signing.”

The Board of Overseers of the Bar issued the reprimand last April after concluding that lawyer Paul E. Peck continued with several foreclosure cases after a GMAC Mortgage official admitted that he had not reviewed mortgage documents, didn’t have personal knowledge of the facts asserted and had not signed and swore to the truth of the foreclosure documents in front of a notary public.

The case became known nationally as the “robo-signing” scandal after mortgage company officials admitted that hundreds of foreclosure documents had been signed without a thorough review of the cases, as required by law.
Peck, who appealed the bar reprimand in May, was a Drummond & Drummond lawyer working for GMAC in 2010 when the financing company was pursuing dozens of foreclosures in Maine. In most of the cases, GMAC was seeking summary judgments in the cases, based on affidavits by a GMAC “limited signing officer” in Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Stephan.

Representative Barbara Lee, a Democrat from California is asked if it is political correctness run amok or cowardice on the part of the Obama regime that prevents them from accurately describing Islamic terrorists as Islamic terrorists.

Unsurprisingly, the Congresswoman says that the “president” and his people are exactly correct and she applauds them on their approach. She says, “First of all, they’re responsible for ensuring our national security. We have to be very careful in our language and how we perceive these horrible horrific acts of terrorism.”

Fresh off of a speech before the Republican National Committee meeting in San Diego, Dr. Ben Carson addresses the current and speculative GOP field of candidates for the presidency in 2016. Asked about Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, Dr. Carson says, “The more the merrier, it’s so important that we get the best candidate. Not the one with the highest name recognition, but the one who can articulate the values of this nation, who can really represent the people, who understands the Constitution and is willing to face challenges, who has the courage to stand and face them.”

O’Reilly questions the more the merrier comment on the basis of a finite amount of dollars available to political candidates, noting that that was the reasoning behind Jeb Bush entering early, to stake his claim on the establishment donations and the same considerations forced action from Scott Walker and Mitt Romney. He asks, “It’s a money play, is it not?”

Senator Blunt Can’t Explain Gitmo Releases – Nothing Obama Is Doing Makes Sense To Anyone

Ed Henry is stonewalled by White House spokesperson Josh Earnest who refuses to answer how the regime intends to prevent the terrorists who are being released from Gitmo, particularly those who were sent to Oman, from winding up back in Yemen and once again targeting Americans on the battlefield and possibly at home as well.

Senator Roy Blunt is asked for his take on the releases. He says flatly that he doesn’t understand the White House position at all and in his opinion neither does the rest of the world.

He says, “Our problem is, as we engage in this fight, that we continue to act like it’s not a fight.” He points to the contrast between the marches against terrorism in Paris which took place simultaneously with the Obama regime’s final preparations to let known terrorists free.

THE GOVERNMENT RETREAT - A BIT - IN ITS ASSAULT ON PRESS FREEDOM

This past week, the Department of Justice retreated from the attacks on press freedom that marked the Obama Administration’s early years. First, on Monday, federal prosecutors announced that they would not call reporter James Risen to testify in the trial of Jeffrey Sterling. And then, on Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder announced (but did not publish) revisions to the policy governing when the Department of Justice can seek to question journalists or obtain information from media organizations about their sources. Maybe the Obama Administration has finally realized how important a role a free press plays in our democracy, or perhaps it finally occurred to AG Holder that it is embarrassing and hypocritical to jail journalists for refusing to reveal their sources while the U.S. is condemning Iran and other governments for similar actions.

Risen had been subpoenaed in 2008 to appear before a grand jury and to testify about the source of information in his book concerning a CIA-led scheme to feed Iranians flawed information about nuclear reactors. He said at the time, and consistently, that he would not disclose his sources, and moved to quash the subpoena. After a multi-year battle in the courts, the Fourth Circuit held — in a terrible opinion for the Fourth Estate — that there was no constitutional privilege for journalists to refuse to disclose their sources to a criminal grand jury. Last June, the Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal. That set the stage for Risen, a high-profile New York Times reporter, to be held in contempt and sentenced to jail for refusing to testify.

If anyone else were supplying the forces of Islamic terror with high value personnel in a manner similar to that with which Hussein Obama is doing, they would be considered a terrorist recruiter and an enemy of the United States. Just because the current occupant of the White House, a lifelong communist, is the one opening the jailhouse doors does not mean he is not aligned with our terrorist enemies.

At a time when the terror threat is elevated to heights not seen since the immediate aftermath of 9/11, a time when America should be fortifying our defenses and intensifying our efforts to apprehend, imprison and kill our Islamic terrorist enemies, Obama is doing the opposite. He is turning them loose.

Five more detainees from Gitmo were released yesterday, in the regime’s effort to empty out the prison by any means possible, regardless of the risk and the impact upon our nation. It is being conducted in the complete absence of a rational explanation as to why and in complete defiance of logic or common sense.

Last year, President Barack Obama passed Immigration amnesty to millions of illegal aliens residing the in United States. But Wednesday, House Republicans passed legislation to overturn Obama’s immigration policies.

The vote was 236-191. The bill supports the department of Homeland Security and provides over $39 billion dollars to support the organization. However, attached to the bill is a block to the Obama’s executive action on immigration.

The Homeland Security Department will need the funds to ensure programs for counterterrorism and cybersecurity. These programs are vital in the safety of the United States especially considering the recent attacks in Paris.

Limbaugh notes how many of their number have put out simultaneous statements that Obama is an embarrassment and that he needs to clean house when it comes to his administration. That’s an interesting bit of theater, since those people who populate the regime are largely affiliated in one way or another with the CFR. Lisbon – The first Saturday of the new year was celebrated in the town of Lisbon as history was being made on the campus of Lisbon High School, 2 Sugg Drive in Lisbon Falls.  Superintendent Richard Green welcomed guests for a ceremony commemorating the official ground breaking for the new school gymnasium.  Green acknowledged members of the Lisbon School Committee members Traci Austin, Kathi Yergin, George Caron, Pete Reed, Gina Mason, and former member Marcey Crosskill, for their support in providing the guidance and direction bringing the construction to fruition.  “Over the last thirteen years, I have been part of many conversations and served on several committees to discuss the need for a new gymnasium,” shares Green.  “I believe the most important conversations occurred during a “Future Search” where over 80 members of the community volunteered to be part of a weekend two-day workshop to help create a Strategic Educational Plan that would guide us through the next several years.  It was during these discussions that a list of “prouds” and “sorries” was created.  It became clear the facilities, specifically the need for a new gymnasium was the biggest concern/sorry.”   

 

Green thanked  and recognized the commitment citizens made to the School Department supporting the District’s goal to provide the residents and tax payers in Lisbon/Lisbon Falls a good return on their investments.  The Superintendent also thanked the current and past members of the Facilities Committee, Tim Carville, Don Fellows, Richard Main, Fern Larochelle and Dean Willey for their countless hours of time and dedication.  Members of the Town Council, Finance Committee, were recognized for this collaboration of support throughout the planning process.   Green introduced David Lewis, the Owners Representative, Ryan Kanteres and Nathaniel Cram from Scott Simons Architects, Eric Dube from Casco Bay Engineering, Denis Landry, owner of Landry/French Construction, Ryan Landry, Assistant Project Manager, and Scott Christing, Project Supervisor.  Assistant Superintendent Heather Wilmot, Cathy Messmer, Lisbon’s Business Manager, and Darrell Orr, Facilities and Transportation Director were acknowledged for their efforts behind the scenes moving the process forward with support from the administrative team and Central Office staff.

The communist mayor of New York City uses the familiar tool of justification upon grounds of humanitarianism to promote his city-wide amnesty for illegal aliens in NYC and the associated ID cards.

In his announcement, de Blasio described the cards as “one piece of plastic but it’s going to open so many doors for our ‘fellow New Yorkers,’ gonna make their lives better.” It’s actually 500,000 pieces of plastic and while the Mayor is correct that it will make things better for the illegals who receive them, he’s breaking the law, he is an accomplice to their criminal actions of being in the United States illegally and he is aiding them in remaining in the United States illegally. He should go to prison, to the tune of 500,000 counts of being an accessory.

De Blasio said, “We don’t want any of our ‘fellow New Yorkers’ to feel like second class citizens, we don’t want them to feel left out.” The fact de Blasio refuses to recognize is that they are not citizens of any class or description, they are illegal aliens, citizens of a different country, not this one. They should be left out and they should feel left out. They should also feel deported.

Lisbon – Members of the Lisbon High School Class of 2017, along with chaperones Shari Jordan, Katy Dodge and Monica Millhime, attended the annual Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Career Fair on Tuesday, January 13.  Students from Lisbon, and other local schools, were invited to attend the Fair.  Prior  to visiting the CMCC Campus, students were requested to choose two college aspirations careers from a list of 45 course offerings at the college.  “We are fortunate to have partnerships in education with Central Maine Community College and The MELMAC Education Foundation,” shares Lisbon’s Community Resource person, Monica Millhime.  Students had the opportunity to ask questions of specific areas of interest throughout the program.  “Staff and faculty at the college visit with students in Lisbon throughout the year to develop their aspiration plans and provide assistance with applications, financial aid options, course selections and testing.   “MELMAC provides funding for students to attend the Fair and other college visits through the Foundation’s Grant Partnership with Lisbon Schools.”  FMI on other programs, projects, partnership and volunteer opportunities in Lisbon call 754.0021 or visit the posting on FaceBook at Community Resource News in Lisbon Schools. 

LISBON STUDENTS LEARN THE VALUE OF ANTIQUES

 

 

 

 

 

Lisbon – Students enrolled in the Gartley Street alternative education program of  Lisbon High School at 19 Gartley Street in Lisbon, recently welcomed Tim Gaudet, an avid collector of antique glass and porcelain pieces.  By day, Gaudet, assists the students at Philip W. Sugg Middle School with their library and research needs as the schools’ Library Education Technician.  Gaudet has been a buying, selling and displaying his collections throughout the state  since 1971, and teaching those who would like to understand the aspects of the collecting.  “One needs to have a passion for the past when it comes to appreciating antiques,” shares Gaudet.  You cannot afford to be careless with your own business.”  He stressed the value of research and clearly written descriptions of items, as well as accurate shipping costs.

 

Gaudet donated a number of antique pieces to the students in the Gartley Street Program (GSP)  for their entrepreneur endeavors with their student driven e-Bay Store.  Pictured with Gaudet are students Judy Hursh and Lillian Johnston.  Students assisted with the inspection and categorization of a number of pieces in preparation for the online store.  The GSP offers students an educational environment outside the traditional academic classrooms, allowing for academic and personal growth.  Students will photograph all items, create descriptive narratives, research the market price of the item and maintain accounting records for postings and revenues generated.  All proceeds from the store benefit aspects of the program not currently funded through the school department’s budget.  The store may be viewed at http://stores.ebay.com/Gartley-Street-Program

Rep Gowdy On Overreaching Obama – Congress Has Tools To Stop Him, It’s About Damn Time To Use Them

On Wednesday the House of Representatives voted 236-191 to fund the Department of Homeland Security while including in the bill language to black funding to the illegal dictatorial amnesty for illegals declared last year by Obama in conjunction with a DHS memorandum from Jeh Johnson.

Gowdy as many of the reasons why it is a violation of our Constitution, the process of our government, the separation of powers and an illegal dictatorial act as time or delivering the message properly would permit.

He doesn’t take time to address the myriad economic, social and cultural aspects nor does he say anything about the wide open border Obama has dumped into our laps as a means of pressuring the people into caving in to his dictates.

A total of 26 Republicans officially announced themselves as RINO open borders traitors and enemies of the Constitution and its separation of powers today. They did so by voting against the successful Marsh Blackburn (R-TN) amendment to the Homeland Security funding bill which prevents any of those funds from being used in the implementation of Hussein Obama’s dictatorial amnesty or in the funding of future DACA applications or renewals.

The bill passed by a vote of 218-209, with the defections coming largely in districts in which Republicans represent large minority populations and in which they may have felt it prudent to put their perceived interests of minority citizens and their associated votes over the Constitution and the oath they swore.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL WORKSHOP – JANUARY 13^TH 

During last Tuesday’s Town Council Workshop, the members of the Council in attendance were Chairman Pesce, Vice-Chair Bickford, Councilors Lunt and Garrison.  The workshop was for the purpose of hearing information pertaining to Moxie Festival; Town Owned Land; Gas/Diesel Pumps Card Swipe System; and the Public Works Garage Addition.  The following is a small summary of each: 

The Moxie Committee spokesperson Gina Mason and Brenda Rogers asked the Council for guidance on the Moxie Festival.  They also asked why the Police, Fire and Public Works Department charged the Moxie Committee for services when this is a town event.  Chairman Pesce agreed with the committee and asked the Town Manager to look into these department budgeting Moxie weekend into their individual budgets. 

Town Owned Land – The Council had requested a listing of the entire town owned land which was provided by the Town Manager.  However, this listing included the building currently occupied and utilized by various departments of the town.  So the Council asked the Town Manager to review the listing and eliminate the properties currently used by the town.  This discussion was tabled until another workshop so the Council could review each property to see if the town can put some of these properties on the real estate market to increase revenue.  According to my figures, there are approximately 91 total properties on the list but 40 of these are utilized by the town.  These figures are unofficial. 

Gas/Diesel Pumps Card Swipe System – Upon review of the gas/diesel controls, it has been verified that the town does not have sufficient controls of these two pumps.  In order to correct this deficiency, the Public Works Director has suggested a card swipe system to control the use of gas/diesel fuels.  After a short discussion, the Council felt that the controls should be by vehicle instead of Department Heads.  The Public Works Director was instructed to look into a system that would meet these requirements and provide estimates. 

Public Works Garage Addition – The Public Works Garage is completely restored and operational.  The town has approximately $166,000.00 dollars remaining from the insurance payment.  The Public Works Director is asking that these funds be applied to adding a 25’ X 80’ steel structure to the current Public Works garage.  This addition is critically needed so that trucks with plows will fit into the building to be worked on.  Currently, the Public Works garage does not fit these vehicles and the doors to the garage have to be left open when the mechanic works on these vehicles.  The Council agreed that this was a good use of these funds and would eliminate the problem of fitting vehicles, to include school buses, into the garage for work.  The Council asked the Town Manager and the Public Works Director to move forward on this project.

Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT), is a freshman Congressman, a former Navy SEAL and a realist who understands the threat posed by Islamic terrorism. He also respects our Constitution and the importance of the rule of law in our nation.

Basketball Is Important, Veterans And Islamic Terrorism, Not So Much, Obama Left No Doubt

Obama’s got the time to entertain the San Antonio Spurs in the White House. After all, he likes basketball and basketball players. Some players, like Reggie Love, he really, really likes. On the other side of the coin are those annoying Veterans who always seem to want something, like the health benefits they were promised and guaranteed in return for their military service to our nation.

It’s one thing to give free health care, housing, food and jobs to illegal aliens, there’s votes in return for his party. The veterans, as patriotic Americans, will never vote for a subversive like Obama, so he’s giving them only what he begrudgingly has to, and he’ll make them wait and maybe die in the process.

We can all remember the false assurances that Obama admires and respects the military and their service to our nation back when the heat was on in the VA scandal. But he survived, making enough empty promises to satisfy his critics until the focus moved on to his next public failure or misdeed.

Recap Finance Committee Meeting

RECAP FINANCE COMMITTEE MEEETING – JANUARY 12^TH 

Last night, the Finance Committee met to review the town and school’s financial situation.  According to the Town Manager, there are no problems and payments are on time for the year. 

Under the School Financials, Mr. Green asked to discuss the School’s Capital Reserve Fund and what this fund could be used for.  Mr. Green has several projects he would like approval to use these funds on.  They are:  (1) Upgrading wireless network at Lisbon Community School; (2) Upgrading district radio equipment; (3) Installing fuel pump security system; (4) paying finance legal fees.  This discussion lasted close to an hour with little decided.  Mr. Michael Bowie stated that he thought there needs to be a policy statement to support what these funds can be used for and each project should have its own line number.  Mrs. Norma Wells agreed in part with Mr. Bowie but thought the school could use these funds for these projects with the exception of paying finance legal fees.  The majority of the committee agreed with both Mrs. Wells and Mr. Bowie that paying legal fees should not be part of the Capital Reserve Fund. 

In the end, Mr. Green was to look up the state statue on Capital Reserve Funds to ensure the School Department is using these funds properly.  The entire committee agreed that Mr. Green’s plan was good and would save the taxpayers tax dollars.  They just wanted to ensure the School was using the Capital Reserve Fund properly.

Such terms, however, aim to deny the inherent criminality of illegal immigrants’ actions. Similarly, it would be erroneous to claim that Jack the Ripper was an “unlicensed surgeon.”
