Last I knew, the judicial system has a plaintiff and a defendent. You were "presented" the plaintiffs side in this whole "performance" however, you never were afforded the opportunity to hear the other side. A blog is that - a blog - which is personal opinion. Last I checked, that is one of our American Ammendment RIGHTS! That also is the forum in which this should have been addressed. Not at a town council meeting with invited guests and an agenda to publicly attack and humiliate a town councilor. This is not how Mr Cote went about things, whether you agree with what has been allegedly said or not, right is right and the way this was done was not right. Mr Brooks should not have used the TC meeting forum and Mr Bowie should have better managed the meeting by not permitting it to go on. We all want what is best for this town. The Lisbon Concerned Citizens groups is not what they have been portrayed to be either. There were 3 members of this group in the audience during this display of unprofessionalism contrary to the article. This group is bigger than most realize and is comprised of many elder people in this community, prominant folks as well. FYI...I was there and was not impressed by the performance and rewatched it again Thusday and yet again was not impressed so "pookie" take note----NOT CONCERNED. When the budget is not cut and your taxes go up again and you stand with a higher tax bill in your hand....who are you going to complain to? Because of the LCC, there is now an ethics panel for our town which according to our charter, should have been there all along. Members of the LCC have fought to make accountability occur and because of them, our insurance rates were investigated and do you know the amount to date saved? I doubt you do because the majority of the audience at Tuesdays meeting has not been to a meeting in a year or MORE! We, the LCC have members present at EVERY TC meeting and are actively trying to make a difference. What have you done to try to make a difference? Have you volunteered or done anything to reduce our expenditures? Didnt think so. Dont complain about things that you have not helped to contribute towards changing or improving. Help, dont hurt. Not all of us on the LCC agree with one another on everything but together we all want a better community and are trying to work together to do that. Long before these comments were publicly aired about the Lisbon PD, I had heard for years that there were issues around drugs. Are there drugs in our schools that havent been found? ABSOLUTELY! My child comes home and on an almost weekly basis tells me of kids who have smoked marijuana in class or while out walking on exploratory. It is there, just because it hasnt been found doesnt mean it isnt there. I think we should rally together as a community for one cause....a better Lisbon/Lisbon Falls. Thanks for reading!
