Larry, I was unaware you had
taken over the Lisbon Reporter blog - thank you for keeping it going and please keep up the good work.
That being said, please feel free to post my email, your response and this
reply.
I understand your concerns
however the primary vehicle in question is normally parked off of the street in
the yard. While I am sure the neighbors may consider that an eye sore for the
area, it is not a parking violation. There may be a zoneing issue but that is a
different topic.
If there are vehicles
regularly blowing through the stop sign then Lisbon PD should be monitoring the
intersection more frequently, but with an average of two vehicles on the road,
they have alot of area to cover. I woudl suggest the neignbors attempt to nail
down a time whan the majority of the infractions occur and be more specific in
thier request to Chief Brooks. Alternately they can call in every time they
observe the violation and their complaints should be logged by the dispatcher.
If its properly documented and ont he record they can't ignore it forever.
As for the section you
reference, you are incomplete in your reference, both 50-71 and 50-72 relate to
specific streets as noted in the section, not to all streets. The only parking
ban that effects all streets is section 50-45, Winter Parking. Again I empathize
with your concerns but unless there is something in black and white saying the
trucks can’t be there, there is nothing to enforce.
