On October 22nd of 2012 Lisbon Middle School Girls
Soccer tied 0x0 with Monmouth on their turf and remained undefeated four games
in a row.
The fast and skillful Monmouth forwards tried over and over
again to break the Hound’s defense but found a solid wall that kept them from
scoring. Stopper Ciera Miller and Sweeper Sydney Douglass kicked several balls
away from our defense and Left Fullback (1st half) Hope Morse and
Right Fullback Emma Houle stopped every game coming from the sides. Goalie Ali
Sult also blocked many shots. Captain Chandler Riordan played aggressively booting many
balls from the middle and from our defense. Right Mid Amanda Storman fought to
disarm the opponent in the middle and Left Mid Jasmin Le gave her best trying
to connect the game with the forwards.
Hound’s forwards tried hard to create goal situations but every
attempt was stopped by the Mustang’s defense. They dribbled past the opponent,
they passed the ball, they shot on goal, but they could not break the rival’s
solid defense. The most clear opportunity at a goal Lisbon had was an
individual play by Conchita Thomas who took the ball from the middle, dribbled
past four players and gave an assist to Left Forward Hope Morse who was very
well positioned and almost put it in the net.
Lisbon Middle School Girls’ last game of the season is on
October 25th, visiting St. Mike’s
Coach Juliani
