Will The Voice Of The People Fizzle Tuesday Night?

FIREWORKS ORDINANCE

On Tuesday night at the town council meeting there will be a Public Hearing on the 2nd reading of the Fireworks Ordinance. This will be the last opportunity for the citizens of Lisbon to voice their concerns over this ordinance.

You do realize the council has ignored the town’s survey on whether to allow the use and sale of fireworks? The majority of the people who completed the fireworks survey wanted the use and sale of fireworks banned from Lisbon. Of course, no matter what the people offer during the Public Hearing the town council is going to approve the fireworks ordinance as written. DO YOU THINK THEY HAVE AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE???????

Of course, we will have to wait and see if LaRochelle Properties, LLC or the town has already made an agreement with some business to sell their land for a fireworks store. Why else would the council disregard the wishes of the people?
