RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – FEBRUARY 3^RD

This is a summary of the Town Council meeting of February 3, 2015. All Councilors were present with the exception of Councilor Brunelle who was excused.

Under Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances – The following agenda items were approved by a vote of 6-0.

1. Set Public Hearing for Conditional TIF – The Council approved a date of March 3, 2015 for the Public Hearing.

2. Tax Acquired Property – The Council gave the Town Manager permission to continue on collecting full payment on back taxes owed and to issue Quick Claim Deeds on property.

3. 2015 Maine Bureau of Highway Safety (MeBHS) Grant – The Council approved for Chief Brooks to apply for the grant for $3,750.00 and an in-kind grant match.

4. Budget Schedule – The town Manager presented a tentative schedule for budget meeting and workshops which was approved by the Council.

5. Police Sergeant Position – The position of Sergeant has become vacant with Sergeant Scott Stewart moving on to another position with the County. The Council approved the recommendation by the Town Manager to not fill the position.

6. MDOT Construction Overlimit Permit – The Council approved the waiver necessary for MDOT to work on Route 196.

7. Schedule Informational Workshop on Revaluation – The Council approved February 24, 2015 for a workshop to inform the Public about how the revaluation will work.

8. Fee Schedule – The Council approved changes to the Fee Schedule which deal with Town Departments opening of the roads cost and new fees for Beaver Park.

9. Amend Div.3 Health & Safety Section 82-78 Food Regulations (Second Reading) – This was approved by the Council.

10. Amend Ch. 70 Zoning Div. 14 – Sec 70-1 Definitions, Sec. 70-564 Dimensional Requirements, Sec. 70-536 Dimensional Requirements, Sec. 70-815 Overlay Zone District Descriptions, and Sec 70-155 Variance limitations (Second Reading). This was approved by the Council.

Under Town Manager’s Report – The Town Manager announced that Public Works would begin removing snow from the downtown area last night.

Under Appointments – Marie Hale and Don Fellows were appointed to the Board of Assessment. Scott Hall was appointed to the Planning Board Associate Member and Larry Fillmore was appointed to the Finance Committee.
