Lisbon Firefighters at Scene of Lisbon Center Fire

Firefighters responded to a fire located 384 Lisbon Road in the Lisbon Center section of town on December 27, 2008.
Captain Robert Robitaille was the Incident Commander and arrived just three minutes after the call was received. The lone occupant escaped the fire with burns to his hands and face and was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland by Lisbon Emergency.
Firefighters responded to the call for fire and were on the scene in five minutes. Approximately 35 firefighters from both District stations responded with Engines 1, 2, 7, Ladder Truck 6, and Rescue 10. First arriving unit, Ladder Truck 6, attacked the fire and had the fire under control within ten minutes of their arrival. Crews from Engine 1 and Engine 2 provided a back-up line and laid a water supply line to the hydrant. Command had Engine Company 7 cut a ventilation hole in the roof of the structure to ventilate the toxic smoke and gases. The crew from Rescue 10 provided breathing air bottles and rehab for those members on the initial attack.
Topsham Fire responded to the scene and provided staff for Rapid Intervention. As required by law, a firefighter assistance team must be present anytime there is a dangerous or life threatening fire. The Town of Lisbon has an agreement with Topsham Fire Department to provide this for all of our structure fire calls.
