I appreciate your comments about the tractor trailers in Huston Park.  I also agree with you the town of Lisbon has a lot more issues which also need our attention, however, I have grand kids on Wing Street and I value their safety.  To me, Public Safety should be a major concern for all residents of this community.

 

As far as a reference to the parking situation, please review on the town web site: Under Article 11, Stopping, Standing, Parking, Division 2, Section 50-72 Lisbon Falls.  This section reads: 

There shall be no parking on the streets of Lisbon Falls as set forth in this section. Where parking is limited to a certain length of time, such restrictions shall be in effect during the hours indicated, except Sundays and legal holidays, unless otherwise specified. The owner or operator of any vehicle found parked or left unattended in violation of the restrictions set forth in this section shall be punished by a fine as provided in article V of this chapter.

 

As the first line states very clearly "There shall be no parking on the street of Lisbon Falls as set forth in this section."  This is an issue which does not need to be changed or adjusted; it only needs to be enforced by the Police Department.

 

As far as your comments regarding traffic moving violations, I totally agree with you but if the police department can not increase the surveillance of the area then blowing through the "Stop" sign will never get corrected. 

 

Again, this is a Public Safety issue which should be a major concern for all.  These situations can be easily corrected if the police department enforced the laws and ordinances of the Town of Lisbon.

I will be more than happy to to post both your letter and my comments to the Lisbon Reporter if you really want me to.  Please let me know what you want me to do.
