Celebrate Constitution Day, Sept. 17

 

On Sept. 17, 1787, 39 delegates to the Constitution affixed their names to a document drafted in Philadelphia.

With the Bill of Rights ratified in 1791, the Constitution established the free press we still enjoy in 2014.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;  or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
