RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – NOVEMBER
5TH
Last night’s Town Council
meeting was a special night for some of our young people. The meeting started off with two
proclamations for the Recreation Departments Pee Wee Football Team and the
Youth Football Team. Both of these teams
won their division at the Central Maine Championships. Congratulations to Mark Stevens, the players
and coaches for a job well done.
Under Council Orders,
Resolutions & Ordinances – The Boston Gold Post Cane Award went to Mrs.
Virginia Tardiff who turned 100 years old on September 30, 2014. The Council also approved the Library to send
in a letter of interest and apply for the 2014 Community Health Information
Partnership (CHIP). The Council approved
the lease to purchase of a 2015 Ford F-550 from Whited Ford Truck Center for
$52,669.00 for the Public Works Department.
Next, the Council approved the annual audit bid to
RHR Smith & Company for $22,117.00 per year for 5 years. The Council also approved the Timber
Harvesting of Beaver Park for $65.00 per hour plus $12.00 per gallon of paint
to the forester. And finally, the new
Town Attorney has a conflict in representing the town in dealings with Miller
Hydro & Miller Industries Properties.
So the Council authorized the Town Manage to negotiate with another firm
that does not have a conflict of interest on only this situation.
Under Other Business – The
Town Manager announced the retirement of Duncan Daly from Public Works
effective January 2, 2015. The Town
Clerk read the results of the election.
If you want more information on the election results, they can be found
on the town web site.
