HOW WILL THE REVALUATION AFFECT YOUR TAXES???

On February 24, 2015 at 07:00 PM, the Town Council will conduct a Revaluation Informational meeting. This will be a workshop with a quest speaker from the Maine Taxation Bureau to provide information as to how the town will be implementing the completed revaluation. This revaluation took approximately five (5) years and cost the taxpayers approximately $400,000 tax dollars to complete.

As it stands right now this workshop will be in the Town Council chambers at the Town Office.

The revaluation, as I understand it, goes into effect with the spring tax bills. The impact of the revaluation coupled with our already outrageous taxes will surely be a challenge to every taxpayer.

This will be a great opportunity to let the Council hear your opinions on the implementation of the revaluation and next year’s budget. This is a great opportunity to explain to the Council your personal struggles with these increases in our taxes.
