New York Residents Refusing to Follow New Anti-Gun Law and Register Their ‘Assault Weapons’

That is what New York citizens are avoiding by the millions as we discover that only about five percent of the state’s citizens are obeying New York’s new anti-gun SAFE Act and registering their firearms with Andrew Cuomos’s stormtrooping government.

Just What We Need More Government Oversight ~ Worked Great For Amtrak Employees, Claim They Worked 40 hours plus In One Day

Timesheets for employees of Amtrak are riddled with abuse, according to a recent audit report, with cases of workers claiming over 40 hours of work in a single day.

The audit released by Amtrak’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) Thursday found examples of abuse in the overtime system, which totaled nearly $200 million in overtime pay last year.

“[Calendar Year] CY 2014 timesheet data revealed trends and patterns that indicate potential fraud, waste, and abuse in the reporting of overtime and regular time,” the audit said. “Some of these trends and patterns may be justified because of the complexity of union agreement rules, the nature of jobs, and the functions employees perform.”

Are Our Tax Dollars Being Properly Used?‏

ARE OUR TAX DOLLARS BEING UTILIZED PROPERLY? 

Apparently, I opened a can of worms the other day at a Town Council meeting when I asked why the Public Works Drive-way was not being paved this year. The Public Works Director had a listing of roads/street to be paved this year and it was not on it. The criteria for selecting which roads/streets should receive the highest priority are the ones with the worst condition and the most heavily traveled. Since the Public Works Director has no credentials, he cannot be held accountable for not using this measuring stick. 

However, according to several of our Councilors I have learned several interesting facts I am sure the people are not aware of.

1. The paved surface in front of the Public Works garage is NOT a road or street.

2. This is classified as an internal access-way on Town property.

3. Since it is an internal access-way it does not have a name.

4. It is not built to the standards of a public road.

5. According to a Councilor, it needs to be closed whenever the Transfer Station is closed.

6. The town will not build a proper road until the property that the buses park on is purchased by the town. What one has to do with the other escapes me?

7. This internal access-way is the current traffic pattern for the following:

a. Residents use to get to the Transfer Station.

b. Town owned vehicles use this to refuel.

c. Used by the buses to get to the Middle and High Schools.

d. Used by the Public to get to the parking lot to watch sporting events. 

The Town Council is content to let this situation remain as it is until they purchase the property the buses park on. The problem is that this internal access-way is currently in a very deplorable state and is causing damage to everyone’s vehicles. Please review the pictures in this article again.

The citizens of Lisbon deserve better treatment from local government especially since the people have been paying such high taxes. It is not unreasonable to demand better service from town officials. 

I believe this is a major problem right now that requires immediate attention by the Town Council, Town Manager, and the Public Works Director.


If the Town does not want to take immediate action to correct this situation, please provide information as to where to send the bills for vehicle repairs.

“He Could Have Called 911″: Dead Robber’s Mom Wants Good Guy Charged For His Death

Message to all law-abiding citizens out there: if an armed robber attacks you, you are not allowed to defend yourself or the people around you by any means. That’s the message being sent by the mother of a dead thug, who wants authorities to charge a man with murder for shooting her precious thug son after he put a gun to the head of a woman.

18-year-old armed robber Tamon J. Stapleton stormed into the the Breadbox and forced the female employee behind the counter and towards the register at 2:30 AM with a gun to her head. One of the employee’s male friends happened to be in his car in front of the Breadbox. He retrieved his legally-owned pistol from his car and ran into the store, firing a single shot that struck Stapleton in the head, killing him.

So we outsourced the data management to a consultant in Argentina, whose co-worker was in China. They didn’t have to hack us, they walked right on in, with credentials and an invite. Seriously, if we were handing our intel over to our enemies on purpose, would we be doing anything differently? The information from 14 million government workers or more was taken – it makes a joke of our national security and opens us up to countless threats. Another coup by Obama’s minions.

DC City Council Stole $110K From an At Risk Kid’s Program to Fund Obama’s Exclusive Inaugural Gala

When the Washington D.C. City Council pleaded for $110,000 in funding for a program for at risk kids they cried that it was “for the children.” But not long after the money was given to the city, officials decided to use it to fund a big party for Obama’s 2009 inaugural. Now one official has been sentenced for this theft.

Former DC official Neil S. Rodgers was sentenced this week for the theft and six others have pled guilty in separate cases for the misappropriation of the funding.

The Maine Legislature approved a $6.7 billion biennial budget Tuesday morning, just in time to pass Governor LePage’s ten day veto period and avoid government shutdown before the start of the next fiscal year on July 1.While this would seem like a job well done, these legislators deserve no pat on the back. A select few secretly controlled negotiations while their peers were left in the dark until voting occurred.

The manner in which this budget was created; behind closed doors in “chairs and leads” meetings held throughout the preceding weeks, then ultimately finalized in private discussions between House Speaker Mark Eves, D-North Berwick; Senate President Mike Thibodeau, R-Winterport; Senate Minority Leader Justin Alfond, D-Portland; and House Minority Leader Ken Fredette, R-Newport, flies in the face of Maine’s long held tradition of and commitment to transparency, and shouldn’t be tolerated by the people of Maine.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – JUNE 16TH, 2015

This is a summary of the Town Council meeting for June 16, 2015.  The following agenda items were approved by a vote of 7-0: 

Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances –

1.      Acceptance of the 2014 JAG/Byrne Grant for $2,433.00 and $875.80 of forfeiture funds for vests.

2.     Beaver Park Cabin Rental.  The Council approved Cherie Garnett and her family to occupy the Beaver Park Cabin.  The contract will be worked out with the Town Manager and the Garnett family.

3.     Town Owned Land.  The Council approved with an amendment to sell the land listed.  There are eight properties.

4.     Permission to Close Street for Moxie Festival.  This was approved by the Council.

5.     Set School Budget Referendum.  The date was set for August 11, 2015 for the next vote on the School budget.

6.     The County Charter.  The Council voted to support the other towns in the dispute with the Commissioners.

7.     School Capital Reserve Request.  The Council approved the use of School Capital Reserve funds for upgrading the High School and Lisbon Community School wireless system.

Sheriff Samson provided an update on the consolidation of the two Communication Center and to seek the go ahead on the project by the Council because they are applying for a Federal Grant and wanted to include Lisbon.  The Council voted to go ahead with the project.

The Banner Policy was tabled for another meeting.

Under Other Business – The Finance Director provided a legal review on the use of Excess Bond Proceeds.  The Council discussed the timeline for the School Budget Referendum.

Under Appointments – Jim Lemieux resigned from Planning Board.

Karen Paradis was renewed as a Planning Board Regular Member.

Sally Lunt and Claire Paquette were renewed as Library Governing Board.

Lorraine Wright was renewed on the Ethics Panel.

Don Fellows and Miriam Morgan Alexander were renewed on the Assessment Review Board.

Bruce Marshall was renewed on the Appeals Board.

In 2013 the Department of Homeland Security released 36,000 violent illegal alien criminals onto American streets after claiming officials were practicing prosecutorial discretion. In 2015, they did the same and released 30,000 more violent aliens onto the streets who had been convicted of heinous crimes like murder, sexual assault, aggravated assault, rape and more. We also learned just this week that more than 100 violent illegal aliens who avoided deportation by DHS have been charged with murder after being let go from the system.

Now, a new report in the Boston Globe details how Immigration and Customs Enforcement has released dozens of "the worst of the worst" convicted illegal alien sex offenders into American cities. To make matters worse, ICE failed to closely monitor the criminals or force them to register as sex offenders searchable in local databases.

In fact, they admit that they don’t even have any system in place to track the money or to make sure that when it was distributed it was done so lawfully.

This is the criminal fraud that is Obamacare, folks. This is money that could have gone to real healthcare. The gov’t says that this lack of control could put taxpayer money “at risk.” Now THERE is an understatement!

Taxpayers Billed $128,781 for Michelle Obama to See Cultural Sites in Venice

Hotel costs for First Lady Michelle Obama to see cultural sites in Venice during the last leg of her trip overseas is costing taxpayers $128,781.

The First Lady left for London and Italy on Monday for her “Let Girls Learn” initiative and anti-obesity campaign Let’s Move. During the trip she will cook with children, visit U.S. service members stationed in Italy, and visit Prince Harry.

Lets Act Like The Adults We Should Be ------- by Joe Hill

 

For years now Lisbon Taxpayers have been telling Lisbon Councilors to cut taxes and as we all know that means cutting spending. Recently the Council acted on those taxpayer requests and set reduced budget goals for both the municipal and school department  budgets.  As a result of our Councilors efforts to keep taxes low they have been called childish names, their manhood sexuality and intelligence have been placed in question and some have even threaten their jobs.  This kind of behavior reflects badly on Lisbon.

While both sides of this debate have shown their displeasure with their opponents views only one side, the SCHOOL SIDE, has resorted to the nasty name calling, bullying and threats that have made us all feel uneasy the last few weeks.

Lisbon is the third highest taxed Town in Androscoggin County. A few months ago we learned the results of those high taxes when Lisbon released a foreclosure list with over 50 names of our friends and neighbors.  A few weeks ago the Town Manager informed us of 4 foreclosed properties Lisbon placed on the market.  All 4 of these properties had Lisbon residents still living in them. 

 Lisbon taxpayers are justified in their rage over high taxes and our Councilors are trying their best to reduce our tax burden. 

Some on the School side of this debate point to more cuts that could be made on the Municipal side of the budget.  I agree with them the Council should and probably will cut more on the town side when the "Police Study" comes back to give them the information they need for the cuts.

I am sick and tired of the rhetoric, if I hear another person trying to portray the Council as a group of mean men picking on those least able to defend themselves I am going to vomit. The truth is the children and parents are probably the strongest special interest group in town. This was proven when over 700  petition signatures were gathered within a couple days.

 The Council is not trying to stop the people from voting on the School Budget, The Council is just trying to stop a special interest group from dictating to the rest of Lisbon what the School Budget will be. The council is doing its job.

I don't think anyone would deny we have a social contract with our children. We have an obligation to do our best to help educate them and prepare them for life .We also have an obligation to the taxpayers in town that are being taxed out of their homes to pay for a New Gym, Track or anything else that we cannot afford. When 

two obligations collide we have to look at the costs associated with each and spend our money wisely.

I hope you won't let the intimidation stop you from contacting your Councilors and letting them know you support them.  Its time to stop this nonsense.
