ABUSE OF POWER BY TOWN COUNCIL CHAIRMAN!!!!

At Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting, Chairman Roger Bickford used his position as Chairman to table a vote on Route 9 until such time as Councilor Metivier could vote. Knowing, he did not have the votes to pass more wasted time on the Route 9 issue of allowing used cars to be sold in violation of OUR Comprehensive Plan, zoning, and Land Use Table, he tabled the agenda item.

This is another example of the “Good Old Boys” network controlling Lisbon. It is apparent; Roger Bickford is a member of the “Good Old Boys” network. On four separate occasions; THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE SPOKE OUT RESOUNDLY BY STATING THEY DID NOT WANT ANY CHANGES TO THE ZONING ON ROUTE 9. However, Chairman Bickford must have promised his good friend and fellow “Good Old Boy” Rick Mason that he would push it through so Rick could sell used cars on his property. Tuesday night, Chairman Bickford did not have the votes to move forward on this issue without Councilor Metivier.

Chairman Fellows, Planning Board, recommended several options and all but one was illegal. The right answer and only legal option was to wait until the review of the Comprehensive Plan. This should have ended any further discussion on this issue. However, Chairman Bickford does not care if it is legal or not as long as his fellow Good Old Boy gets his way. Councilor Metivier is a partner of Chairman Bickford in everything. Remember the problems two years ago with the School Department, stopping the project on the Communication Center and now Route 9. Chairman Bickford and Councilor Metivier have been the ringleaders behind all these problems that continue to waste taxpayer’s funds needlessly. These two Councilors have done enough damage to this community and need to be voted out of office in November.

One would think that when the majority of the people speak that would be the end of it. That is not good enough for the “Good Old Boy” network because it is not the answer they wanted to hear. Lisbon is no longer a democracy where the majority rules. Of course, when the Town Council votes the majority rules but then again it all depends on who you are.

There were 15 agenda items and the Council voted on all except the Route 9 issue because Chairman Bickford would not vote until he had Councilor Metivier there for his vote.

GOPDD: While We Were All Focused On The Olympics, Obama Quietly Pulled This Off

Americans everywhere are focused on the Olympics right now, so Barack Hussein Obama decided it was the perfect opportunity to quietly do something that could put all of us in major danger.
According to Daily Caller, around half a million Palestinians are currently able to take advantage of the temporary amnesty the Department of Homeland Security has extended to Syrian refugees. DHS secretary Jeh Johnson recently announced that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is being extended for Syrians until March 31, 2018.

GOPDD: Trump Themed Restaurant Billboard Infuriates Hundreds, But We Think It’s Awesome

In Indiana, a billboard was put up over a Mexican restaurant, and its Trump-themed statement immediately drew criticism.
Mostly from those who don’t have a sense of humor.
Hacienda Mexican Restaurant erected the hilarious billboard, but instead of laughs it garnered hate from liberals who believe the restaurant went too far with its marketing strategy.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – AUGUST 16TH

The following is a summary of what took place Tuesday night at the Town Council meeting.

Under Council Orders, Resolutions and Ordinances –

1. Traffic Speed/Frequency Equipment – The Council approved by a vote of 6-0 because Councilor Metivier was excused to purchase a CRR-CK-BT Radar Recording Kit for $3,325.00. These funds will come from the forfeiture funds account.

2. Planning Board Route 9 Feedback and Conclusions – Chairman Don Fellows briefed the Council on the Planning Board findings and made a few recommendations. Chairman Bickford of the Town Council did not call for a vote because Councilor Metivier was excused. Should never have happened.

3. Request to Bid Projects – The Council voted 6-0 to approve for the Public Works Director to go out for bid on several projects.

4. Discontinuing Winter Maintenance – The Council voted 6-0 to send out notification to property owners on Hasey Street and the parking area surrounding the municipal parking lot off Main Street in Lisbon Falls.

5. Public Hearing for Road Bond – The Council voted by a vote of 6-0 to set September 6^th as the date for a Public Hearing on the Road Bond.

6. Public Hearing for Loader Bond – The Council voted by a vote of 6-0 to set September 6^th as the date for a Public Hearing on the Loader Bond.

7. Public Hearing for Charter Amendments – The Council voted by a vote of

6-0 to set September 6^th as the date for a Public Hearing on the Charter Amendments.

8. Council recommendation on Road Bond – The Council voted 6-0 to move forward on the Road Bond.

9. Council recommendation on Loader Bond – The Council voted 6-0 to move forward on the Loader Bond.

10. Council recommendation on Charter Changes – The Council voted 6-0 to move forward on the Charter Amendments.

11. Auditing Other Services – The Council voted by a vote of 6-0 to approve additional auditing services not to exceed $13,000.00.

12. Maine Downtown Network Community & Trademark Sublicense Agreement – The Council voted to approve $1,000.00 by a vote of 6-0.

13. CDBG Lisbon Falls Revitalization – The Council approved to apply for a grant with matching funds of $80,000.00 on the $400,000.00 grant.

14. Davis Street Sidewalk – The Council approved by a vote of 6-0 to go ahead and solicit bids for this project.

15. Fire Department Truck 6 Extras – The Council voted by a vote of 6-0 to apply $7,854.00 to extra work on Truck 6 to come out of the Apparatus Refurbishment account.

Under Other Business – The Town Manager encouraged citizens to attend the swearing in of the new Police Chief Marc Hagan on September 1^st at 0900 hours. Liza Ward also updated the Council on the EMA progress.

Take, for instance, one Ms. Pinky Stanseski. Ms. Stanseski is a campaign worker for Hillary Clinton who apparently thinks the city of Milwaukee ought to be burned down.

An illegal immigrant who was tapped by the Hillary Clinton campaign for a new effort to register Latino voters is tied to a multi-million dollar voter registration effort funded by George Soros.
The Clinton campaign announced the “Mi Sueño, Tu Voto”—or “My Dream, Your Vote”—program on Sunday. The program uses stories about illegal immigrant children who are prohibited from voting to inspire Latino voters to register and vote against Donald Trump and Republicans, the Associated Press reported.
Astrid Silva, the 28-year-old illegal immigrant who railed against Donald Trump during a prime-time speaking slot at the Democratic National Convention, was featured in the Clinton campaign’s press release announcing the new “Dreamer” effort.

The future of America is at stake, and for anyone to still be screaming “never Trump” is not very principled, especially in light of Donald Trump’s “America First” policies and the great speech he presented to the Detroit Economic Club recently. Screaming “never Trump” is actually fairly anti-American and immoral, if one understands that the alternative is Hillary Clinton and policies that are certain to undo the U.S. Constitution and destroy America.
Once one looks at the stark differences between the two candidates, despite any valid points myself and others made in opposition to Trump during the primary, one must ask the “never Trump” people, just what principles are you holding on to so tightly that you would pave the way for Hillary Clinton __ the most corrupt, dishonest and despicable politician in American history, a Chavez imitator and an Alinsky acolyte __ to win the presidency and implement plans that will kill the U.S. economy and individual liberty?

ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work can't be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn't be fair.

ABBOTT: The unemployed.
COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.

ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.
COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?

ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!
COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work?

ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That's how it gets to 5.6%. Otherwise it would be 23%.
COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?

ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.
COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?

ABBOTT: Correct.
COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?

In little noticed comments, Hillary’s running mate Tim Kaine told a black audience in New Orleans that white people must become a “minority” in order to properly atone for racism and oppression suffered by blacks.
“I’ve never been treated badly in life because of my skin color or my gender,” Kaine told a group of black Baptists in New Orleans. “I think the burden is on those of us who are in the majority — Caucasians. We have to put ourselves in a place where we are the minority.”

The St. Cloud, Florida police department has filed a formal complaint with Walmart after a police officer in uniform was refused service by two clerks working at a Walmart store in St. Cloud.
The incident was reported by Central Florida TV news outlet WFTV which got confirmation from Walmart and police that a clerk refused to ring up the officer’s purchases by pointing at her (the clerk’s) skin color. A fellow clerk laughed and also did not help the officer.

In yet another shocking video to emerge from the Milwaukee riots, local police were the target of intense verbal abuse and physical threats by angry African Americans.
At the 35 second mark in the video below, a Black Lives Matter supporter can be heard telling law enforcement “we are done with that justice for peace shit, we want blood.”

VETERANS HELPING VETERANS

Lewiston – Lewiston CareerCenter’s retired Veterans Richard Kowalczyk (left), and colleague, Mark Cater, review plans for the upcoming Maine’s Hire-A-Vet Campaign. The official kick-off date is Thursday, September 1 at the Augusta Armory, 179 Western Avenue. Opening remarks are scheduled to start promptly at 8:30 a.m. Kowalczyk is a Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Representative, and Cater is the Local Veterans Employment Representative. Both representatives assist Veterans throughout Maine. Currently they are working with the U. S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and other sponsors to provide support for employers to expand the hiring of Veterans. The event will feature a network of state and federal agencies, recruiting resources, and non-profit connections. The goal of the 2016 Campaign is to hire 100 Veterans in 100 days. The Blaze “Upon arriving here, one of the first things we hear is the crowd getting angry and saying, ‘What are these white people doing here?’” Pool said.

While that statement alone wasn’t enough to cause Pool to pack up his things, other protesters screaming, “F*** white people!” and “White people suck!” did contribute to his decision. Pool cited two specific examples in which he said one reporter was threatened by a protester and “told to leave.” Another, he said, was “smacked upside the head” by someone who later encouraged others to “attack” the group of reporters.
