Article III. Town Manager

The Town Council (and Steve) are proposing to amend Section 3.02 Powers and Duties of the Town Manager to this: "The Manager shall attend all meetings of the Council except when his or her attendance is excused by the Council. Where the removal of the Manager is being considered, the Manager shall have the right to attend the meeting and to take part in all discussions." The Town Council can talk about all the other Town of Lisbon employees in their secret Executive Sessions and those personnel don't have a right to defend themselves but STEVE ELDRIDGE can. Are you feeling the heat Steve? Is this your attempt at staying apprised of when and if the Town Council decides to remove you from office? Is it your plan to hire an attorney and beat up on our Town Council if they should decide that they want you removed.

The Town Council is also proposing to add a new subsection to this article which makes "The Manager the custodian of and responsible for all Town owned property." Now, Steve can tell you that he is going to shut down and sell the MTM center and move them to the LES building with the School Administration. He is also going to sell the Old Lisbon Falls High School and the proceeds from the sale of both of those buildings will be used to offset his budget blunders so that taxes don't appear to rise as significantly for the time being.
