A Visit to the MTM Community Senior Center

Fun, Food, and a Fine time with local guitarist Randy Lindsey adding entertainment to a delightful group of seniors was enjoyed this noontime. Following a trip yesterday to see a play,"Soccer Mom" and a lunch stop at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Local residents enjoyed their weekly gathering at Lisbon Falls MTM Community Center.
Lunch today was provided by Seniors Plus and consisted of Baked Chicken w/gravy, Baked Potatoe, Mixed vegetables, and peaches for dessert. Every Wednesday these meals are cooked in Wilton then shipped to Lewiston and picked up by a local volunteer, William Diehl, who then transports them to the MTM Community Center where they are eagerly enjoyed by local citizens.
These independent seniors gather on Mondays and Wednesdays each week for fellowship where they talk, socialize and work on puzzles, some of which are posted on the walls decorating their room. Senior Plus coordinator Nina Kidwell says that " it takes a great bunch of people to put this together" noting that her helper Flo Morin has been volunteering for over 30 years. A $3.00 donation is accepted for the meal but not mandatory.

The room was alive with guitar music and songs from "Blue Suede Shoes", "Yellow Rose of Texas", "America the Beautiful", and many more chorusing throughout before finalizing with "God Bless America". Randy will be returning on Nov. 4th and the 19th, so mark your calenders for an entertaining outing.
