As we all are unwinding from a historic election season the issue of voting procedures seems to be a topic that is beginning to echo through out the land.
Following several comments submitted by readers in many local and national papers we wonder how you feel on this.
Was anyone asked to show ID when they went to Vote?
Do you feel that this should be something to consider in future elections?
Has there been any issues of people coming to vote and not being allowed because of someone else voting in their place?
We are not specifically talking about this most recent election but any in general.
The reasons for discussion seem to be con sensing around the aspect of this being needed. Here is an example: Without the voter showing ID, anybody could get a chance to vote by just giving a name picked out of the phone book for that locality.
For instance if you travel to some other States they are requiring you to show ID when using a credit card now. This might be a result of the recent activity with the rising credit card fraud. Or is this a proactive solution in combating consumer fraud?
Another example of ID usage is traveling on a commercial flight. If you fly, before you get on the plane you must show you ID several times throughout the ticketing, security screening, and boarding process.
Unfortunately this aspect of providing ID has evolved. No longer can we trust in peoples' good nature or intentions. Tell us how you feel.
