Judicial Watch just released hundreds of new IRS documents that contain admissions by IRS officials of “inappropriate labels” to screen tax-exempt applications on conservative organizations like The Tea Party.

The documents were produced after a revelation by the IRS that it had located “an additional 6,924 documents of potentially responsive records” relating to a 2015 Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit about the Obama IRS targeting scandal. The FOIA lawsuit seeks records about the IRS’ selection of individuals and organizations for audits based upon applications requesting nonprofit tax status filed by Tea Party and other 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organizations (Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service (No. 1:15-cv-00220)).

The IRS is defending its decision to let illegal immigrants claim up to three years’ refunds on income even if they never paid income taxes, telling Congress in a new letter last week that agency lawyers have concluded getting a Social Security number triggers the ability to go back and ask for previous refunds.
President Obama’s new deportation amnesty could grant Social Security numbers to as many as 4 million illegal immigrants, making many of them eligible for tax refunds under the Earned Income Tax Credit even for years when they cheated on their taxes, by working off the books and not filing tax returns.

If you thought the story of how the IRS spent years persecuting conservatives was over, you were wrong. We’ve now known for years that the IRS was involved in some shady and likely illegal dealings in the years leading up to the 2012 presidential election. We even knew that the wrongdoing was likely initiated from near the top-of-the-heap, with IRS leaders who were directly connected to the White House. “Our responsibility is to make sure they pay their taxes,” Koskinen said at a House Small Business Committee hearing. “We have Social Security and immigration authorities and others who enforce that part of the law, and if we start looking behind the system and doing their job for them, we’re going discourage a lot of people from paying the taxes they owe.”
Koskinen’s comments come after remarks he made about undocumented workers using others’ SSNs at a Senate Finance Committee hearing Tuesday.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen made the statement in response to a question from Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., during a session of the Senate Finance Committee about why the IRS appears to be collaborating with taxpayers who file tax returns using fraudulent information. Coats said that his staff had discovered the practice after looking into agency procedures.
“What we learned is that … the IRS continues to process tax returns with false W-2 information and issue refunds as if they were routine tax returns, and say that’s not really our job,” Coats said. “We also learned the IRS ignores notifications from the Social Security Administration that a name does not match a Social Security number, and you use your own system to determine whether a number is valid.”
The Internal Revenue Service revoked the nonprofit status of the veterans benefit organization that hosted and sold tickets to a foreign policy speech by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump aboard a retired U.S. battleship, The Associated Press has learned. The group’s endorsement of Trump at the event also could raise legal problems under campaign finance laws.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul will sue the U.S. Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service for denying his constitutional right to vote on treaties that the Obama administration unilaterally negotiated with dozens of foreign governments, The Washington Times has learned.

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has, at times, seemed to be on a Quixotic quest to find out what really happened at the IRS that created a culture which would encourage senior officials to persecute Americans, simply for being conservative. But over the last year or so, Congressman Issa has been able to dig up enough evidence to reasonably prove that there was more going on at the IRS than the government was leading us to believe. Their original story that it was just a “couple of bad eggs” in the Cincinatti office fell apart quickly as the malfeasance quite obviously climbed at least as high as 2nd in command Lois Lerner.
Since that revelation, the investigation has been stonewalled at every turn, with dozens of government workers claiming to have lost emails and had hard drives crash – stories which fly in the face of credulity and stretch the understanding of even the most sympathetic of onlookers. The worst part is that these computer problems seem contained to the people under investigation, and it seems that NONE OF THEM followed protocol for their computer problems (the government has a very intricate set of plans for handling such issues).
Now comes some new, not-so-shocking information giving us more evidence of Democrat efforts to cover up the IRS’ crimes.
It seems that the very people at the Justice Department who should have been investigating and uncovering the evils at the IRS were working hand-in-hand with Democrat politicians to hinder Republican efforts to investigate.
Apparently last Friday, September 5th, an aide to Attorney General Eric Holder placed a call to Congressman Issa believing he was actually contacting Issa’s Democrat counterpart, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The mistake was not immediately apparent to either side of the phone call, until the aide, one Brian Fallon, made a request to leak some documents related to the IRS investigation to the media “before the majority” (House Republicans) could share the documents.
Basically, the Justice Department had some damning paperwork that would be more evidence of IRS malfeasance. They wanted to get their version of the story out there before Republicans could, so they wanted to see if Rep, Cummings and his office could help them get it to a few key reporters. What this means is that the highest ranking Democrat involved in investigating the IRS was actually helping cover up their crimes!
It would be like a man getting arrested for murder, then a group of the officers involved in the investigation deliberately acting to hide, taint or obfuscate evidence!
Congressman Issa is understandably upset.
He wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder to register his dismay with the situation.
“It strains credulity to believe that the Department would seek to begin to improve relations via a telephone call between two individuals who had never spoken to each other before at 5:01pm on a Friday afternoon at the end of a District Work Period in the waning days of the 113th Congress,” Issa wrote.
Issa said he is “disturbed” by the “apparently longstanding collaboration between the Obama administration and Ranking Member Cummings' staff to obfuscate and prejudice the Committee's work through under-the-table coordination.”

It will be interesting to see how the Democrats and the media spin this in their ever- growing efforts to absolve President Obama and the Democrat Party (as well as the IRS) from any culpability.

After five hours of debate, the House Oversight Committee has voted along party lines 21-12 to hold former IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress.The charges come after Lerner failed to answer questions about the IRS targeting of conservative groups and after failure to cooperate with the Committee investigation into the targeting.
Before the vote, Democrats repeatedly defended the rights of Lois Lerner, arguing she did not waive her Fifth Amendment rights even though she made a statement before declaring she would not answer questions last year and again in early 2014. Republicans argued Lerner did in fact waive her Fifth Amendment rights due to making a statement and defended the rights of taxpayers who were targeted by her organization.
The contempt charge will now go to the full House for a vote. A date for when that vote will happen has not been set. If the House votes to hold her in contempt, the charge will then go to the court system. Yesterday the House Ways and Means Committee referred Lerner to the Department of Justice for criminal charges.
(by Kris Zane, WCJ) -- According to a new report issued by the congressional Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, it was high-level IRS staffers based in Washington and not “rogue” IRS agents in Cincinnati that targeted Tea Party groups. According to dozens of emails released by the report, Lois Lerner and literally dozens of upper level employees of the IRS not only knew about the targeting of conservative groups, but directed it. Lerner, in one email, even went so far as to call Tea Party groups “very dangerous.”
In other words, the targeting of Tea Party groups was orchestrated from Washington—literally a walking distance from the Oval Office.
Are we to believe Obama was not involved—being only steps away—when he repeatedly criticized the Tea Party, identifying them as his enemies, calling them Tea Baggers?But here is the key to the coverup:
Obama directed the IRS to attack the Tea Party in order to affect the 2012 election. More than likely, if the Tea Party had not been weakened, Barack Hussein Obama would not be President of the United States today.
