p.m. and I just returned from the Lisbon Town Office.
A meeting of
the Finance Committee is on the Lisbon Town Office
calendar,
scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
I got to the
town office at 5:05 and waited until 5:30. No cars. No one
there.
I went inside
the building, Town Manager Steve Eldridge's office, empty.
Town Clerk, gone!
At the council meeting on Tuesday May 7, I learned that
there was
a Finance Committee meeting the previous evening,
Monday May 6, 2013.
That meeting
was NOT on the town calendar.
All meetings
are to be advertised or they are ILLEGAL!
THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS! ! ! !
A business
run this way would not be in business for long.

Eldridge and the town council do not and cannot
see that we
have a problem.

It is the responsibility of the chairperson of a committee to inform the
person
putting
meetings on the town calendar, any and all meetings,
and any meeting changes.
I cannot even
find out who is supposed to be putting meetings and updates
on the town
calendar.
It would seem
that the Monday May 6, 2013 Finance Committee meeting was
illegal.
Try to tell
that to town manager Eldridge and the Town Council.
They do not
know what illegal is!
I try my
best to attend town council meetings and workshops, budget
meetings
and
workshops, Finance Committee meetings.
Could this be
who the May 6, 2013 meeting was not published?

November, 2013. Three councilors are up for re-election.

Dottie - Stephen Eldridge is not and has never been a town manager. This has happened plenty of times in the past when Jody was out and there is no one to take her place. Eldridge it is called cross training. This problem has been brought to Eldridge's attention several times in the past and he still doesn't get it. You are right, this is no way to run a business but neither Eldridge nor the council really care about any of its citizens, and least of all you and I. The only way to solve a problem is you first have to admit you have a problem and our council cannot see that Stephen Eldridge is the problem.
Dot, we discussed the finance meeting last week and I mentioned it had been incorrectly placed on the calendar for today when it was actually last Monday. I do not know why it was still on the calendar for today but I will look I to it.

Fat lot of good it does to look into it Greg. You and I know this will continue; meetings not published, canceled meetings on the calendar.
I take the time to attend these meetings. To go and there not be a meeting is a an inconvience and waste of my time. To hear that there was a meeting that was not published is just plain wrong.

Larry, you wouldn't know a town manager if one ran over you with a truck. Which, come to think of it, would be the best thing to happen to Lisbon in years.
You're a real tough guy for someone who has never managed to take out papers and mount a full run at the same Town Council you've been slandering for years. Oh, you've taken out the papers, but when push came to shove you backed off and didn't appear on the ballot. Classic bully move. You'd think someone with all the alleged 'support' you claim to have would have been elected to the council without breaking a sweat. Yet you haven't. Why is that? Is it because you're afraid that when you lose, the the lack of support for your rank foolishness would be confirmed for everyone?
Instead, you sit on the sidelines and throw rocks while wrapping yourself in the flag of 'concerned citizen exposing the truth', and exploiting the economic pressures, fears and understandable confusion of a small percentage of the community, all for the gratification of your massive ego. Oh, you 'care' about Lisbon and its citizens, all right. You 'care' enough to play some of them like a fiddle for the sole purpose of advancing your personal grudges against certain town officials. You 'care' enough to twist even the most innocuous of facts to fit your bizarre narrative.
Yet after all this time, and the dozens and dozens of frivolous FOAA requests, and attacks on the honesty and integrity of everybody that doesn't agree with you and your twisted version of reality, what do you have to prove all your allegations of corruption and waste? You have nothing, except for your cowardice and this ridiculous, embarrassing tin-foil-hatted website. By the way, Larry, the 90's Internet called, and it wants its formatting back.
There are three of seven council seats up for grabs this November, Larry. I've got $20 that says you're not man enough to run for one of them.
Anonymous/Steve – You may be right about how much support I have but as Roger Cote experienced; one person cannot be effective against a stack deck. Right now, it is much more important to educate the citizens as to what is REALLY going on in this community. A manager must possess to vital traits: leadership and organizational skills. You have neither. I was a highly successful manager (not town) for eighteen years (18) and a leader for forty (40) years while serving this great nation. AND I THINK YOU GUYS SHOULD LAY OFF FERN FOR THE LATE CHARGES ON HIS LLC TAXES ,,,THE TOWN SCREWED THAT UP ,,,HE PAID THE BILL THEY SENT HIM ,,,,,FAYE COULD FIX ALL THESE PROBLEMS WITHOUT A DOUGHT.
