The Office Inspector General (OIG) for the Homeland Security Department (DHS) announced that it will be reviewing DHS’ implementation of President Trump’s immigration ban, signed by Mr. Trump on Friday.
The review, announced late Wednesday, was initiated “in response to congressional request and whistleblower and hotline complaints,” according to a statement.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly on Tuesday insisted that “to the best of our knowledge” no CBP officer “intentionally violated the court order.”
General John Kelly has a massive task in front of him now that he has been confirmed as the new Homeland Security Secretary. He’s taking over a department that in some areas has been, to varying degrees, virtually shut down for the last two or three years. That is particularly true in areas dealing with some of the most critical aspects of security, such as border enforcement. In other areas political activism has superseded the rule of law and the laws themselves under his predecessor, Jihadi Jeh Johnson. His task, along with that of Senator Jeff Sessions to rehabilitate the Department of Justice after eight years of politicization, have to be the greatest organizational challenges facing any cabinet members.
If this report is accurate in its location there are, at a minimum, some serious questions that need to be answered. If it is true, what appears to be and is reported to be by the author of the video, non-English and non-Spanish speaking foreigners, are lined up outside an immigration facility on the Mexico-US border. They also appear to be being processed in some manner and then enter the US.
Judicial Watch uncovered documents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that evidence a “hands off list,” which essentially removed nearly 1,000 suspected individuals with ties to Islamic terrorist groups– specifically after the Boston Marathon bombing, which included the San Bernardino killers.
In 2014, FedEx faced drug-trafficking charges after a federal grand jury in San Francisco indicted it for conspiring to deliver prescription drugs for illegal Internet pharmacies.
“The indictment says FedEx knew for a decade that such pharmacies used their services…”
More than half a million aliens overstayed their temporary visas in the United States in 2015, with more than 482,000 of those individuals believed to be still residing illegally in the United States, according to a new report by the Department of Homeland Security.
Around 527,127 aliens temporally granted U.S. business and tourist visas were found to have stayed in the United States longer than legally permitted, according to DHS’s 2015 entry and exit overstay report.
Of those who did not leave the United States on time, around 482,781 are believed to still be illegally residing in the United States, according to the report, which was issued by DHS amid debate in Congress over an Obama administration initiative to permit around 170,000 new immigrants from Muslim-majority nations in 2016.
Governor Paul LePage of Maine has announced that it is requiring all able-bodied citizens that are capable of working to do so in order to receive food stamps. This mandate will be instated for able-bodied adults who are 18 to 50 years old and have no children. They are required to work (or volunteer) 20 hours per week. If they do not, they will be limited to three-months worth of food stamp benefits over the course of a three-year period.
“We must continue to do all that we can to eliminate generational poverty and get people back to work,” LePage said. “We must protect our limited resources for those who are truly in need and who are doing all they can to be self-sufficient.”
The new law has many current welfare recipients and many liberals up in arms. Although the law is a perfectly logical solution to the issue of welfare abuse, many do not understand why they would need to work in order to receive assistance.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Arizona’s
controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has raised nearly $4.5
million to finance a planned 2016 election campaign – but it’s not for
the governorship, as some have speculated.
In an exclusive interview with WND, Arpaio explained being re-elected
as sheriff is just too important, especially with the illegal
immigration crisis and certain, “sensitive investigations” still in
play.
“I would have had to resign the day I announced I was going to run
for governor,” he said. “But I’m not about to abandon my troops. We have
a number of highly sensitive investigations ongoing and we have a brand
new headquarters building. I still have the Justice Department after
me. So, I’m not giving this job up to someone else. I’m sticking
around.”
Arpaio also told Rusty Humphries of the Washington Times
recently one of those “sensitive” projects was his continued
investigation into Barack Obama’s allegedly forged birth certificate.
“If I was the governor, which I turned down a couple of weeks ago
because I would have to resign, I’m not going to leave this office to
somebody coming in when I have sensitive investigations going, including
the president’s birth certificate,” Arpaio said. “I haven’t finished
that yet.
“I don’t care where [Obama] was born. That has nothing to do with
it,” he continued. “I’m concerned about a forged, fraudulent government
document. From Day 1 I’ve been investigating that, now we have to find
out who’s behind that. I’m getting close.”
Arpaio also talked to WND about the increased problem of illegal
immigration, laying blame for the recent flood of unaccompanied minors
crossing the border squarely on the doorstep of the Obama
administration.
“The White House does some stupid things, but I don’t think they’re
so stupid as to not realize when they flood this area with children
there’s going to be controversy,” Arpaio told WND.
“But I think President Obama wanted the controversy in order to
justify a presidential executive order or to force Congress to do
something about passing immigration reform legislation,” he continued.
“President Obama establishes DREAM Act provisions by executive order and
puts out word to the media that DHS is getting lax about law
enforcement on the border. So all these people from Central America want
to send their kids across the border to surrender to Border Patrol
because they know they will get a pass.”
But Arpaio told WND he thinks the ploy of the Obama administration to
open the border with Mexico to a flood of unaccompanied minors has
backfired now because the media is finally picking up on this,
especially with the federal government starting to ship these children
and teenagers to destinations around the country.
He explained his concerns about communicable diseases and criminal gang members.
“The Central American countries from which these unaccompanied minors
are coming do not have good record-keeping on the unaccompanied minors
coming across the border,” Arpaio said. “So how would the federal
government know if these children or teenagers have histories of medical
problems or if the teenagers are members of criminal gangs? But instead
of catching drug cartel dope dealers, the Department of Homeland
Security has Border Patrol changing diapers.”
Arpaio explained that research conducted by his office has documented
that some 35 percent of the illegal immigrants under Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office detention are recidivists.
“What’s the federal government doing with the illegal immigrants we
apprehend who are criminals?” he asked. “If the federal government is
supposed to be deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records, how
come they keep coming back over and over again to end up in my jails?
Why would DHS just release these criminals when the federal government’s
own criteria is that illegal immigrants with criminal records must be
deported?”
Arpaio expressed concern that DHS has placed hundreds of these
illegal immigrant unaccompanied minors in a warehouse in Nogales,
Arizona.
“The federal government constantly investigates me and my jails for
civil rights abuses,” Arpaio said. “My jails are country clubs compared
to the warehouse where DHS is keeping these kids in Nogales. But where
is the ACLU? Where’s Amnesty International?” Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2014/06/sheriff-joe-closing-in-on-obama-forger/
UK version of spy system was used to target political activists

The Department of Homeland Security is set to activate a
national license plate tracking system that will be shared with law
enforcement, allowing DHS officers to take photos of any license plate
using their smartphone and upload it to a database which will include a
“hot list” of “target vehicles”.
Image: License Plate Scanning Camera (Wikimedia Commons).
The details are included in a PDF attachment uploaded yesterday to the Federal Business Opportunities website under a solicitation entitled “National License Plate Recognition Database.”
The system will “track vehicle license plate numbers
that pass through cameras or are voluntarily entered into the system
from a variety of sources (access control systems, asset recovery
specialists, etc.) and uploaded to share with law enforcement” in order
to help locate “criminal aliens and absconders.”
In other countries that have activated license plate tracking networks, such as the United Kingdom, political activists have been targeted by
having their vehicles added to a “hotlist” after attending protests.
One example led to a man being questioned under anti-terror laws after
he traveled to take part in an anti-war demonstration.
As the image above illustrates, the cameras are also
used by local governments in Australia to keep records of people who
violate parking restrictions. Critics of the system in Australia have
condemned it as “a Pandora’s box for abuse of power, mistakes and
illegal disclosure,” stressing that the technology allows authorities to
record “your number plate at a certain time and location,” allowing
police to “compile an extraordinary amount of data about you. This
includes your name, address, contact details, driving history and license status.”
“Innocent people are increasingly being treated with
suspicion due to the tiny chance that some offense may be committed,”
writes David Jancik.
