Apparently our near neighboring towns have had some problems with people soliciting merchandise from business owners. It has been happening in Brunswick, Freeport, Yarmouth and who knows where else.
It is the season for "summer" opportunists to come knocking. Make sure you know who and what cause you are giving your money to. There are some wonderful groups out there that are legitimate. But these "scammers" end up giving them a less than favorable image.
