Lisbon Community Celebrates Kindness‏

Lisbon Community School Students Celebrate Kindness Week

Lisbon - Josh Warren and his family worked together during one of the recent snow day’s from school designing a poster promoting kindness.   Assistant Principal Ryan Patrie, invited all LCS students and their families to enter a poster contest in recognition of the National No-Name Calling Week during January 24 through 29.  A total of 140 entries were submitted promoting various acts of kindness, compassion, and empathy.  In addition to the poster contest, Carley Cox, a third grade student in Mrs. Marilyn Curtis’ class read poems during morning announcements and Evelyn LeBlonde and Seth Smith, first grade students of Mrs. Mary Arndt’s class, recited poems in classes.   Winners of the poster contest received a Sam’s gift certificate thanks to a Lisbon Schools’ partnership with Sam’s.  Every child who submitted a poster received a special LCS pencil for their efforts in promoting a healthy school environment.  FMI on Lisbon School events, programs, volunteering and grant opportunities contact, Community Resource Coordinator, Monica Millhime at 754-0021 or email mmillhime@lisbonschoolsme.org.
