EAGLE RISING: Hillary Clinton is Coming... for Your Guns!

By /

Last week, I told you about California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom's hypocrisy as he goes after gun owners' rights while receiving armed security to the tune of millions of tax payer dollars.
Now, let's look at it on the national level with Hillary Clinton. Clinton, who should be arrested and indictments brought for many of her crimes including those being uncovered in the Benghazi scandal, has been targeting the Second Amendment, but the irony and hypocrisy is that for decades, Mrs. Clinton has enjoyed armed security at the expense of the American taxpayers, whose rights are being targeting.
A.W.R. Hawkins at Breitbart reports:

EAGLE RISING: Hillary Clinton’s Real Political Legacy: She’s a BYSTANDER

By /

Eric Golub of the Tygrrrr Express may have just encapsulated the Hillary Clinton legacy better than any journalist I’ve read on the subject. Comparing Clinton to leaders like Giuliani, Pataki and George W. Bush, Golub reminded his readers that Clinton’s contributions to our nation can be summed up in three words; “She did Nothing.”
Rudy ‪#‎Giuliani, George ‪#‎Pataki & George W. Bush led on 9/11.‪#‎HillaryClinton was a bystander. She did nothing.
Her entire existence is a lie. She was in NY on 9/11. So was my family. Big deal. I was in Los Angeles the day of the 1994 Earthquake. It doesn't mean I rebuilt the city. Pete Wilson did.
Hillary has zero life accomplishments, so she just makes stuff up.
Next she will tell us how she cradled MLK in her arms while dodging sniper fire from Sir Edmund Hillary while leading the fight for gay marriage as First Lady of Arkansas.

FREE BEACON: Hassan Faces Scrutiny for Sanctuary City Support

Ayotte: We need to be able to enforce our laws

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) took aim at Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan’s past support for “sanctuary cities,” which ignore federal immigration laws.

Ayotte, an incumbent Republican, said that local policies that defy federal law threatens the safety of the general public.

“I believe we should enforce our laws, and I believe that we shouldn’t have sanctuary cities and that we should allow local law enforcement to cooperate with federal law enforcement, because it’s important,” Ayotte told a New Hampshire radio host on Tuesday.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – JUNE 3RD

At last night’s Town Council meeting, it was a very quick meeting.  There were not a lot of agenda items but a lot of appointments.

Under Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances the Council voted 7-0 to write off seven (7) mobile home permits totaling $2,794.39.  These mobile homes are no longer within the boundaries of Lisbon.  The Council also voted 7-0 to write off $9,368.80 of Personal Property because the town has exhausted all effort to collect this debt.

Under New Business – There was a discussion about the Public Works Garage and Mr. Olmstead provided a new brochure that is being used to explain the options.  I have included this brochure.

Also, Mr. Randy Smith, a resident of the town was awarded “Chef of the Year” by the American Culinary Federation.  This is not the first time Mr. Smith has received this award.  Most of you may not know who Randy Smith is but you might know him better as “Pinky D’s” food truck.  Congratulation, Randy!!!

Recap Appeals Board Meeting -October 21, 2013‏

RECAP APPEALS BOARD MEETING – OCT 21, 2013

Tonight, I attended the Appeals Board meeting pertaining to Case #13-2 involving Mr. Terry Dutton.  Mr. Dutton was asking for a variance from 50’ to 30’.  This case as advertised as a Public Hearing and again the Public was not allowed to speak.  The two abutters were allowed to speak and were in favor of the variance.  The Appeals Board took approximately fifteen minutes and approved the variance.

The problem here is Chairman Marion Morgan-Alexander does not allow the Public to speak at the Public Hearing.  I have provided the legal review by the Maine Municipal Association (MMA) to Town Council Chairman Fern LaRochelle.  This document clearly outlines that Public Hearings require Public input.  This is to ensure total fairness in all local matters.

If Chairman Morgan-Alexander does not want to take input from the Public, all she has to do is call it an “Appeals Hearing” or any other name she wants to call it.  Once you call it a “Public Hearing”, the Public is allowed to express their opinion on the issue at hand.  It is extremely disrespectfully for Chairman Morgan-Alexander to invite the Public to attend a meeting and then not allow the Public to provide input on the issue.

I have requested that the Town Council remove Chairman Morgan-Alexander as Chairman of any board or committee because of this situation and the fact that on August 28, 2013 after she adjourned the meeting she ordered everyone to “GO HOME”.  It was like she was ordering troops or scolding small children.  This action was extremely disrespectful to the residents that attended the Appeals Board meeting.

It is too bad that the Town Manager and the Town Council cannot provide proper instructions to chairman’s as to how to conduct meetings.  However, I am positive that the Town Manager and the Chairman of the Town Council both know how these meetings are to be conducted but chose to ignore the law and this misuse of power.  Another problem is that neither the Town Manager nor Chairman LaRochelle are willing to sit down and negotiate to restore law and order to these meetings.  By not being willing to sit down and try and restore law and order, the final recourse is to take the town to court.  By doing so only fattens the pockets of the Town Attorney, Roger Therriault, and waste our valuable tax dollars.

Please call your Councilor and let him know how you feel!

A Dream of Restoring Honor and Trust In Lisbon

HONOR AND TRUST

I also attended the August 28, 2013 Appeals Board meeting, a

"PUBLIC HEARING, Case #13-1, Larochelle Properties, LLC. Variance request for front and side setbacks to allow for construction of commercial building."

The Chair of the committee, Miriam Morgan Alexander, banged the gavel that brought the meeting to order, and approximately 15 minutes later, she banged the gavel to end the meeting.

Now, I'm not saying that Mr... Larochelle should not be allowed to build on that site. The 3 buildings that were there were demolished 3 years ago, and the land has sat vacant. A new building, surely attractive, in keeping with the area, and well kept will be a welcome addition to town, not to mention the real estate taxes to be assessed and paid.

What I object to was the way the meeting was handled.
It was so obvious that approval of the project was a "done deal" before the meeting took place.

Members of the public, citizens who  took time out of their lives to attend, were not given an opportunity to speak.

Miriam Morgan-Alexander claims to be a veteran of The United States. The military, no matter which branch, fight, and have died, for freedom for ALL Americans. Not just a chosen few.

Last night's Appeals Board meeting was a travesty of Justice, and all who participated in it, whether there in person, or helped to perpetrate it, should be ashamed of themselves.

Yesterday commemorated Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech.

Well, I also have a dream.

I have a dream that some day the Town of Lisbon will get back to it's roots.

Where all residents and taxpayers are treated equal.

Where our leaders, elected and appointed, are honest and work for the good of the town and ALL it's residents.

Where all again have the freedom of speech at meetings.

Where Trust and Honor again have a place in our vocabulary.

Recap Appeals Board August 28, 2013

Lisbon Appeals Board Chairman Morgan-Alexander

RECAP OF THE APPEALS BOARD MEETING

Tonight, I attended the Appeals Board meeting.  This was without doubt the most put-up job I have ever seen.  The entire meeting lasted fifteen (15) minutes.  Chairman Miriam Morgan-Alexander proved to be qualified to join the “Good Old Boys” club.   There was absolutely no need for a meeting, wasting everyone’s time because this was predetermined.

The purpose for the meeting was to review Case #13-1 pertaining to LaRochelle Properties, LLC request for a variance for front and side setback to allow for a commercial building to be constructed at 2 Canal Street.  Mr. LaRochelle presented his case for the variance and he was the only person allowed to speak.

Lisbon Appeals Board (l to r): Morgan-Alexander, Richard Long, and Bruce Marshall

This was advertised as a “Public Hearing” but apparently Chairman Morgan-Alexander did not get the memo (See Above)However, at no time did Chairman Morgan-Alexander allow any input from the audience.  The Public was never allowed to speak. This clearly demonstrated at what length Chairman Morgan-Alexander went to in order to ensure Mr. LaRochelle's variance was approved.  Has anyone ever heard of a Public Hearing where the Public is not allowed to speak?

This clearly was a put-up job!  The Board of Appeals did not take into consideration our own ordinances on Access Management and Land Management Use.  Approval of this variance is not in accordance with the Route 196 Master Plan.  I have no idea if construction of this building will create a safety hazard by limiting vision on the curve because I was not allowed to speak.  Do we have a safety issue here?
