Ray's new song about the illegal immigration debate!

10th Amendment Discussed by Kevin Scott & Paul LePage

Gubernatorial candidates Paul LePage and Kevin Scott, along with others, discuss 10th amendment/state sovereignty issues.
Big ideas emerge, such as the Federal Tax Escrow Account. This would allow states to collect all taxes and only send money to the federal government if we agree on how they are going to spend it.

Gubmint and How Gubmint Works

Gubmint and How Gubmint Works

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a
desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So they
created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without
instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two people,
one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the
tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two
people, one to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So they
created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer and then hired
 two people.

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"

So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an
Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal
 Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one Year
and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cutback." So they laid off the
 night watchman.

NOW slowly, let that sink in.

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter.

American Suicide

Wherever you stand, please take the time to read this; it ought to scare the beejeebers out of you!

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado .. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC , filled to capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:

'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country...  History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy , if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

Lamm went on:

'Second, to destroy America , invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

'Third, we could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology...' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority.'

'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precept. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia , threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the 'Unum,' we will 'Balkanize'  America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-cultum, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America , it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America .. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984..' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength..'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

If you care for and love our country as I do, take the time to pass this on just as I did for you.

NOTHING is going to happen if you don't!

Jason Levesque Comments on the Construction of a Mosque by Ground Zero

Jason Levesque: An example of when political correctness overcomes the hearts of Americans

Auburn, Me In recent days, the controversy over the Mosque being built in the shadow of Ground Zero in New York City has exploded into a national discussion.  Jason Levesque released the following comments on the issue:

“September 11, 2001 was a day when thousands of our fellow citizens lost their lives and millions of hearts were terrorized and broken. Today, we are faced with a challenge in our nation where we celebrate religious freedom, yet mourn for our fallen.  I have struggled over this discussion in the past weeks because I believe that people have the right to practice unfettered religious freedom. I also believe we have the right to honor our fallen and ask for the respect and sensitivity to do so.  This is not a matter of whether this Mosque can legally be built in the shadow of Ground Zero; it is a matter of whether it should be.  The constructors of it say it’s a place for healing.  Healing for whom? This is disingenuous and very troubling.    This Mosque should not be built in this location and political correctness should not take precedent over the hearts of Americans.

“Again, we as Americans are uniting around the solemn place where our Twin Towers once stood.  We are uniting around a common belief of respect and of honor.  We need to speak loudly, all of us, against what one can only interpret as a deliberate affront to our sensitivities.  Those in elected offices or public positions who are siding with the Mosque’s construction are putting political correctness over the hearts of Americans.”

ON THE WINGS OF A PRAYER

Just close your Eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.

Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved,

But God only ask us to do our best, Then he will take over and finish the rest...

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue, There is always one door that is open to you,

And that is the door to The House of Prayer, And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.

And The House of Prayer is no further away, than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.

For the heart is a temple when God is there
As we place ourselves in his loving care.

And he hears every prayer and answers each one When we Pray in His name - Thy will be done.

The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

Tax Hikes

Tax Hikes

In just under six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect.
They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves on
      January 1, 2011:

      First Wave:
Expiration of 2001 and 2003 Tax Relief

In 2001 and 2003, the GOP Congress enacted several tax cuts for
investors, small business owners, and families.
These will all expire on January 1, 2011:

Personal income tax rates will rise.  The top
income tax rate will rise from 35 to 39.6 percent (this is also the rate
at which two-thirds of small business profits are taxed).  The
lowest rate will rise from 10 to 15 percent.  All the rates in
between will also rise.  Itemized deductions and personal exemptions
will again phase out, which has the same mathematical effect as higher
marginal tax rates.  The full list of marginal rate hikes is below:

      - The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%

      - The 25% bracket rises to 28%

      - The 28% bracket rises to 31%

      - The 33% bracket rises to 36%

      - The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Higher taxes on marriage and family.  The
“marriage penalty” (narrower tax brackets for married
couples) will return from the first dollar of income.  The child tax
credit will be cut in half from $1000 to $500 per child.  The
standard deduction will no longer be doubled for married couples relative
to the single level.  The dependent care and adoption tax credits
      will be cut.

The return of the Death Tax.
This year, there is no death tax.  For those dying on or after January 1 2011, there is a 55 percent
top death tax rate on estates over $1 million.  A person leaving behind two homes and a retirement
account could easily pass along a death tax bill to their loved ones.

Higher tax rates on savers and investors.
The capital gains tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 20 percent in
2011.  The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6
percent in 2011.  These rates will rise another 3.8 percent in 2013.

      Second Wave:
      Obamacare

There are over twenty new or higher taxes in Obamacare.  Several will first go into effect on
      January 1, 2011.  They include:

      The “Medicine Cabinet Tax”
Thanks to Obamacare, Americans will no longer be able to use health
savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health
reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription,
      over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

      The “Special Needs Kids Tax”
This provision of Obamacare imposes a cap on flexible spending accounts (FSAs)
of $2500 (Currently, there is no federal government limit).  There
is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly
cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children.  There are
thousands of families with special needs children in the United States
, and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education.
Tuition rates at one leading school that teaches special needs children
in Washington , D.C. (National Child Research Center) can easily exceed $14,000 per year.
Under tax rules, FSA dollars can not be used to pay for this type of special
      needs education.

      The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike.
This provision of Obamacare increases the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals
from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs
and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

      Third Wave:
The Alternative Minimum Tax and Employer Tax Hikes

When Americans prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011,
they’ll be in for a nasty surprise—the AMT won’t be
held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will have expired.
      The major items include:

The AMT  will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million last year.
According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, Congress’ failure to index the AMT will lead to
an explosion of AMT taxpaying families—rising from 4 million last
year to 28.5 million.  These families will have to calculate their
tax burdens twice, and pay taxes at the higher level.  The AMT was
created in 1969 to ensnare a handful of taxpayers.

Small business expensing will be slashed and 50% expensing will disappear.
Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly-deduct, or
“depreciate”) equipment purchases up to $250,000.  This
will be cut all the way down to $25,000.  Larger businesses can
expense half of their purchases of equipment.  In January of 2011,
all of it will have to be “depreciated.”

Taxes will be raised on all types of businesses.
There are literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take
place.  The biggest is the loss of the “research and
      experimentation tax credit,” but there
are many, many others.  Combining high marginal tax rates with
the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.

Tax Benefits for Education and Teaching Reduced.
The deduction for tuition and fees will not be available.  Tax credits
for education will be limited.  Teachers will no longer be able to
deduct classroom expenses.  Coverdell Education Savings Accounts
will be cut.  Employer-provided educational assistance is
curtailed.  The student loan interest deduction will be disallowed
for hundreds of thousands of families.

Charitable Contributions from IRAs no longer allowed.
Under current law, a retired person with an IRA can contribute up to
$100,000 per year directly to a charity from their IRA.  This
contribution also counts toward an annual “required minimum
distribution.”  This ability will no longer be there.

          Now your
insurance is INCOME on your W2's......

            One of the surprises
we'll find come next year, is what follows - - a little
"surprise" that 99% of us had no idea was included in the
"new and improved" healthcare legislation . . . the
dupes, er, dopes, who backed this administration will be
            astonished!

Starting in 2011, (next year folks), your W-2 tax form sent by
your employer will be increased to show the value of whatever
health insurance you are given by the company. It does not
matter if that's a private concern or governmental body of
some sort.  If you're retired?  So what; your gross
will go up by the amount of insurance you get.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money that you
have never seen.  Take your tax form you just finished
and see what $15,000 or $20,000 additional gross does to your
tax debt.  That's what you'll pay next year.  For
many, it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it's even
            worse.

This is how the government is going to buy insurance for the15% that don't
have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases.

Not believing this???  Here is a research of the
            summaries.....

On page 25 of 29: TITLE IX REVENUE
            PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A: REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec. 9001,
as modified by sec. 10901) Sec.9002  "requires employers
to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of
applicable employer sponsored group health coverage that is
excludable from the employees gross income."

Joan Pryde is the senior tax editor for the Kiplinger letters.
Go to Kiplingers and read about 13 tax changes that
could affect you.  Number 3 is what is above.

Why am I sending you this?  The same reason I hope you forward
this to every single person in your address book.

People have the right to know the truth because an election is
            coming in November.

Speeding Motorcycles In Lisbon

Good afternoon,
The subject I want to mention is Motorcycles. Noise? No. As long as they have standard equipment. That is the nature of the beast, per se.

Speed? Yes. Not necessarily fault of the operators in this Town of Lisbon. In other words, they being allowed by our Lisbon's Finest. I have NEVER seen a Cycle pulled over for any violations. It's always been noted that our citizens are intimidated by the Dept., which of course they (the Dept) love. But. The other side of the coin. I honestly believe the Dept. is intimidated by the Cyclists. Pretty wary of them.

From what I've seen, on Rt's 9, 125, and 196, speed signs are ignored. The worst of it seems to be when they get within the local limit's of 45mph and less. do not slow down whatsoever.
Ok. Enough of this. Don't want to burn the Subject.
Thank you for letting me vent!

Water water everywhere and how many times do we pay for it?‏

Well like most of us I received my quarterly water/sewer bill. while I guess I was supposed to be glad it was one one piece of paper and only one postage was used but,  it smelled even worse than before. Why you ask ? well now we get to pay for a THIRD party to merge the two bills. Just another example of how out of touch our town has become. Anybody want to buy a raised ranch on a quiet street ? I give up on this "quaint" little town, I was attending town meetings, now I understand why most people don't go.

Vitamin Water Deemed Not So Good

(NaturalNews) Do you ever wonder things like "Who is actually gullible enough to think that Vitaminwater is healthy?" Although that question may seem demeaning or even arrogant, it turns out that the Coca-Cola company (which owns the Vitaminwater brand) is essentially asking that exact question.

How so? In response to a recent lawsuit against Coca-Cola filed by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), Coke's attorneys replied in court briefings that, "...no consumer could reasonably be misled into thinking vitaminwater was a healthy beverage."
