Not All Turkeys Were Eaten

Welcome to December! This morning is a great reminder of what is coming. Remember to add a little extra time to your travel plans as the roads are not bare. Slipping and sliding will get your heart racing before you know it or want it.

Here's a cheer for all dedicated "Road Technicians" that allow us to move about. There are undoubtedly some long hours coming for these individuals as we commence this Winter Season.
Thanks for your past, present and future efforts.

For those in the hunting arena, this is the start of the "muzzle loading" season. Gives those of us still with "crisp" deer tags the opportunity to validate them. And speaking of hunting, I have seen those Turkey's again, yup you guessed it. They were "millin" around near the Town Office.
Maybe the over night's 1/2" snowfall topped with rain and freezing will slow 'em down a bit.

I can only speak for myself, but for those that have laid eyes upon me, you must agree I have not missed many meals. No in fact I really like those "Turkey Fixin's" leftover sandwiches that "ma, grandma, or favorite sweetie" so diligently fix (ed) when hunting. I hope to get out into the woods again this "dry powdah" season. Hmm, wondering if a December Turkey season would be considered by State Government. Seems every other "hair brained" idea has been considered in the past, but wait that leads into a whole different topic.

While I was reading yesterday's Sun Journal, this article, (right click and open in another window) written by Jonathan Labonte really made sense. We are in and have been a "ruff 'n tuff" economic time for quite a while. The local governments across this state, and nation, for that matter, really have a tough battle with finances moving towards them. Here's wishing them all good luck. Now I 'gotta fix somethin' to eat.
