So We Close Out One Year And Open A New One

In print it sounds easy, almost like opening a bank account. Now we all are going to write 2009 on every written document. It will be preceded by attempts with 2008 scratched out. But what if we just take 2008 and add 1, like 2008+1. Seems easy as a mindset. Legally bet it would challenge even the "Toadiest" of lawyers. As the year end draws near many are reflecting back on the year past and saying this and that about this and that. But what we all should be doing is looking ahead and finding ways to improve over things that maybe didn't tingle the pleasant feelings quite as well as they should have.

There is going to be a lot of changes this coming year. Remember all those election promises of "Change". Because of the very uncertain and difficult Economic Crisis of the World, Country, State, County and Municipality you can be certain that change is a must. No way can things be done as in the past. Financially, these entities are facing the most challenging budget concerns in a long time. Some may argue that they will be of historic proportions.

So what can we do? We, as individuals will have to work hard on our own budgets for our selves and we will have to work even harder at the municipal, county, and state levels. There will have to be a significant shuffling of funds to keep even the barest of necessities going.

Thanks to all who read and support the Lisbon Reporter.
We will continue to bring interesting, lively reading, and information in 2009.

Together, we will get thru the Year 2009. Good Luck and Happy New Year!
