TLR,
I attended the Budget Public Hearing last night. I was surprised at the low attendance given
these tight economic times.
Where do I begin? The Town Manager's presentation as well as every answer to the questions he
was asked was nothing more than a smoke and mirrors show.
If David Copperfield is looking for an assistant I am certain you could be hired Mr. Eldridge.
I agree with Mr. Curtis' comment about the School Committee's thorough and informative handout
provided for everyone in attendance. The one page handout of the town's budget that was provided
for the public was a complete joke! Mr. Eldridge's excuse for not having a complete budget available???
To conserve paper/save money and also reminded us all that the budget was available online.
Hello...not everyone has access to a computer!!! The School Committee's budget is also available
online AND plenty of handouts were available last night. I attended last years budget public hearing
and remember the Town getting criticized about their poor handout. Guess you didn't listen very well huh?
Now, how can you say you are conserving paper when you admitted that the handout you provided was incorrect?
When, the question regarding the Economic Development's budget figure was brought to your attention you
said the handout was wrong. Sooooooooooooooooo the town printed how many copies of an
incorrect document.....tell me is that not wasetful?
Seems we also had several cases of 'swine flu' in attendance last night. It was so apparent that
Mr. Brooks once again stacked the room with his police department followers.
Kind of overkill don't you think Mr. Brooks?
