I would like to say "Thank You" to whomever published the list of Town of
Lisbon employees and their education level. There were some that the
education level was not published. If the information was not available, it
should have been noted as such.
Now, I would like to see the pay/salaries of all Town of Lisbon employees
published, to compare the education level with compensation. For instance,
Rosie Bradley as our Development Director is being paid a whopping $60,000
per year with only an Associates Degree in Liberal Studies. In the 2006
Lisbon Town Report, the last one that town salaries were published, Darlene
Ayer, Administrative Assistant at the Public Works Department, with a high
school diploma, was paid $28,265.32, while Denise Bowie, Administrative
Assistant with the Police Department, with a high school diploma, was paid
$43,028. That is a difference of almost $15,000! It would seem that who one
is friends with or related to makes a difference in compensation here in
Lisbon.
There is NO transparency in government here in Lisbon. We, the public have a
right to know where our tax dollars are being spent. If our tax dollars are
being spent wisely. If tax dollars are not being spent wisely then it is
past time for big changes at the Administrative level.
Is it tax dollars spent wisely to drastically cut the pay of dedicated long
time employees, or to eliminate their positions, only to have those jobs
taken over by the City of Lewiston, when we are paying others top dollar
when they do not have the education for the job they were hired to do?
Where is the common sense in Town of Lisbon Government?
If you, the public,do NOT get involved, do NOT speak up, we just might
be sold, not down the river, but UP the river, to Lewiston.
Is that what you want?
I know I don't.
