The Boogieman Does Live in Lisbon

That’s right, the Boogieman lives in Lisbon. He is trying to frighten and intimidate the citizens of this community starting with our youth. He is constantly harassing, using any violation, all to protect his fat police budget. If you keep the society afraid of getting a ticket or if you keep harassing them, nobody will dare speak out against the million dollar budget. Look what happened to councilor Cote, he had to sit through the best display of a true windbag that I’ve ever seen, all for nothing. What happened to councilor Crafts? He was going to help cut the police budget; now he is showing his true colors! Let’s put Mr. Brooks to a vote, and see what the citizens really would like. I bet he would join Mr. Smith. People are not afraid to vote! Brooks can’t tell how they vote so he doesn’t know who to harass and intimidate.

This budget season the town manager and the towns elected officials should be looking to cut spending any way possible. We are headed for a very dry summer financially. If we don’t keep our spending as low as we can, we will have serious problems this fall and winter. The Fire Department and the Police Force are not exempt from cuts. The town of Lisbon is not an employment office, nor is it a retirement program. We have had too many employees that have retired and rehired at large wages that we can not afford! (This summer seems to be a good season to get the golf clubs dusted off, for the good of the community!) Don’t you think you people have taken advantage of the community long enough?

I know Mr. Brooks; you probably will continue to take advantage of the community, and ride in the Moxie Day parade with your new police car, believing people actually like what you’re doing for this town; but don’t be mistaken, that’s not the true sentiment of the community.
