DeMolay Supports Autism Society of Maine‏

The Knights of the Sun, Auburn Chapter, Order of DeMolay focuses its charity work on Autism.
Autism is a neurological disorder affecting a person's ability to communicate, interact with others,
and develop a wide range of interests and activities. It is a spectrum disorder affecting individuals
differently and to varying degrees of severity. The Autism Society of Maine is a non-profit organization
providing information on treatments and services for families of those affected.

Thanks to a successful bottle drive held by Chapter members, on Tuesday, April 28, 2009,
members of the Knights of the Sun Chapter presented a check of $100 to Kathy Williamson
of the Autism Society of Maine.

DeMolay is a leadership organization open to young men between the ages of 12 and 21.
Members participate in activities to raise civic awareness, and personal responsibility.
Public speaking and leadership skills are developed through local Chapter meetings.
