"Did You Know"

Did you know that Jerry Samson, our Town of Lisbon Assessor, finally got so fed up with the games the Town Council and Town (mis)Manager is playing that he has given a two week notice and submitted his resignation?

Will the Town Council and Eldridge outsource the Assessing and Codes Departments to Lewiston, thereby forcing Jerry to lose his job here in Lisbon and force Mike Cote to work in Lewiston on a conditional status?
Will Mr. Samson and Mr. Cote be forced to take a cut in pay to 30 hours per week, a substantial loss of income? (Another proposal given by Town Manager Steve Eldridge)
Will those departments be outsourced?
Will their pay be cut?
Yes. No. Yes, No.

Morale at Town Office is the lowest it has been since former Town Manager Curtis Lunt left office. Now the Town of Lisbon will have a substantial savings of $31,500 per year by having those departments outsourced to Lewiston. Amazing savings!

Now the Town Council and Eldridge need to do the right thing and stick to their original proposal, in the Police Department eliminate the two police officers and dispatcher; eliminate the part time position in the Library, and any other proposals made to balance the budget

No digging into our surplus to keep jobs to balance the budget.

The School Department looked long and hard in their budget and found enough money to fund the needed improvements to the high school without going to the public to bond said improvements. I applaud the School Department and Superintendent of Schools Shannon Welsh for doing right thing and setting an example to Town Council and Town Manager Steve Eldridge.

I repeat, NO RAIDING OUR SURPLUS TO KEEP EMPLOYEES TO BALANCE OUR BUDGET!
