meetings for our Lisbon Junior and Young Adult Volunteers is new this
year,” shares Community Resource Coordinator, Monica Millhime.
“Our Lisbon Volunteer Program has grown beyond our expectations,
especially with our students. We modeled our Junior meetings after
the adult parent groups. With over 100 students in the program, from
grades five through twelve, we wanted to make sure community events and
volunteer opportunities were communicated to our students,” according to
Millhime. Each month, administrators, teachers and various
committee project guests attend meetings to update students on events.
“It is impressive to see students at a meeting early in the morning with
so much energy and enthusiasm at meeting to find out ways they can make a
difference in their schools and our community,” commented Yergin.
