JASON
LEVESQUE ON PRIMARY RESULTS AND GENERAL ELECTION
2nd District Congressional Candidate
Congratulates Fellow Winners, Eyes General Election
Auburn,
Maine – 2nd Congressional District Candidate Jason Levesque
this morning offered his fellow republican nominees congratulations on
their success in moving on to the November general election in Maine.
Jason, who did not face a primary challenge, released the following
statement.
“First,
I want to thank all the great people that ran in yesterday’s primary. I
learned so much from each of you and thank you for your past and
continued guidance. The fact there were so many people willing to fight
for Maine, willing to take this very difficult step to run for office, is both a tribute to this
great state and a sign that people are ready to fight for what we
believe in.
“Congratulations
to all of last night’s winners on both sides of the political aisle. I
look forward to the vigorous debate and exciting campaign we will all
be conducting as we spread our messages to the people of Maine.
Specifically, a hearty congratulations to our Republican nominee for Governor, Paul LePage. I truly look
forward to campaigning alongside you as we try to bring some fiscal
responsibility, accountability and the people’s voice to Augusta and
Washington.
“Now, the general election begins
and we must stay focused on our message and make sure the people of
Maine understand where we stand on the vital issues facing us today. My
opponent Mike Michaud and his colleagues are ignoring the will of the
people. He calls himself a “Representative” but doesn’t realize his
constituency is not Nancy Pelosi and her partisan interests…it’s us.
“We
want jobs, not a trillion dollar failed stimulus. We want real health
care reform, not another trillion thrown at yet another problem--which will ultimately do
nothing to reduce costs or open access. We want the government to
reduce spending, not hike the debt ceiling when they run out of cash so
they can spend more. We want immigration reform and the enforcement of
existing laws. Mike Michaud,
this is what the people you represent are asking of you. If you do not
listen to us now, you will hear us in November.”
Best regards,Jason Levesque
