New station mixes Oldies with Moxie

June 21, 2010.  The Moxie Festival Committee is pleased to announce their new partnership with Oldies 106, WQRY, an internet radio station based in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Oldies 106 jocks will broadcast live from The Moxie Festival between 11 am and 3 pm on Saturday, July 10 in front of the Lisbon Falls Library. 
Oldies 106, owned and operated by Lisbon Falls resident Rick Rioux, broadcasts online at www.wqry106.com each day from 6 am until midnight.  The station features music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Programming also includes special feature shows like Super Solid Gold Sunday Nights with music from the 50’s and 60’s and Steely Dan Sundays, featuring the music of Steely Dan every Sunday from 2pm-4pm.
Since 1983, The Moxie Festival weekend in Lisbon, Maine has been held on the second weekend in July.  The Festival now includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night firework show; a Saturday parade, 5K race, and family fun carnival; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race.  Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005.

According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 40,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival.  The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.
