Card Check

Subject: Card Check

If the Democrats sneak this through, it will have consequences that even Obama, I'm sure, doesn't think about.  His concern is for the Unions only.  Walmart will be the ultimate target and why not!  Imagine the Union dues they could collect.  The employees don't realize what they would lose.
They will wind up with no more take home pay, even less if Benefits are provided  beyond what they are recieving. Don't you think China will be upset?  Walmart obtains 90%  of their Product from them.  I don't think that Country will be happy if their relationship is affected. Obama never thinks about the consequences of what they do. Imagine LL.Bean, who treats  their employees as well as any company, is infested with these card carrying goons threatening everyone.
My father, brother, Uncle and cousin in Mass. were heavy equipment operators in Local 25.  Every year you voted for a Shop Steward  who dictated who went where to work.  If you hadn't voted for the right man, you didn't work very much for the next year, since the votes are open and everyone knows who you voted for.
Card check will benefit only the Union and they need the money to give to the Democrats throughout the Country.  Unions, for years have done nothing but hurt the economy.  They're still run by thugs.  I hope you can enlighten your colleagues in both parties.  The White House is infiltrated by Unions as it is.  Don't make it worse.

Card check

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Card check (also called majority sign-up) is a method for American employees to organize into a labor union in which a majority of employees in a bargaining unit sign authorization forms, or "cards," stating they wish to be represented by the union. Since the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) became law in 1935, majority sign-up has been an alternative to the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) election process. There are two main differences between majority sign-up and the NLRB election process. One difference is that majority sign-up is a public ballot, whereas the NLRA election process is a secret ballot. The other difference is that majority sign-up does not mandate intervention of the NLRB if the employers refuse to recognize the union after a majority of workers vote for unionization, whereas the NLRB election process does require NLRB intervention.

Union Recognition - Secret Ballot Elections and Card Check Schemes

The "Employee Free Choice Act"—better known as the Card Check bill—is a proposed law that would change how unions are allowed to organize workers in the United States. Big labor unions like the AFL-CIO, SEIU, and the Change to Win Coalition spent heavily during the 2009 election, and are pushing Congress to approve this law. Union membership has been declining—currently about 7.5 percent in the private sector—and they hope this law will change the rules and reverse that trend.
The U.S. Chamber strongly opposes this legislation. There are three problems with Card Check:

1. Eliminating the Private Ballot

 2. Government Arbitration and Control

3. Harsh New Penalties for Businesses
