In response to Clyde Cavenders mail. He mentions that The Lisbon Reporter is bias. Yes it is. For the TRUTH.
In that respect, I honestly believe the Lisbon Reporter is doing an excellent
job as a WATCHDOG for the Town of Lisbon.
It has been mentioned that Mr. Cote's remark of not paying our real
estate taxes was not such a good idea or in bad taste. I beg to differ. It
sure stirred the pot to bring some of the shenanigans to light. Kudo's to you,
Mr Cote.
Now. I myself am leaning to go back to our old
townmeeting type of government. Maybe the turnout was small but sure is better
than half a dozen people now making decisions. And if an article came up that
anyone was for or against, all one had to do is round up the people for the
cause they wished to pass, and urge them to attend the meeting.
BUT. One
stipulation.
Secret ballot on the budget. For a show of hands, there was too
much intimidation from our Lisbon's Finest, whom attended in
droves.
To wrap this up, I really enjoy the letters the Post receives.
Rather I agree or not, is immaterial. Most are informational and well put
together. Gives some of us reasons to respond. THE DEMOCRATIC
WAY!!
Keep up the excellent reporting, Mr Comber.
