Lisbon
– Members of the Lisbon High School Interact Club supported a fall
community service project during September benefiting New Beginnings in
Lewiston. Bill Denehy and Christine Wilson, members of the
Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club, invited Interact members to assist with
gathering clothes for homeless teens as a back-to-school program.
“Students and staff at LHS donated gently used and new clothes, some
with tags still attached,” shares committee chairperson Samantha Foote.
Thanks to assistance from LACO (Lisbon Area Christian Outreach) and
Guidance Secretary, Lorraine Bard, students stored donations during the
month and committee members Kristianna Benoit, Ginny and Sydney Tolbert
packed their Interact Advisor’s car for delivery to the Rotary Club.
“Our Interact students have scheduled a number of community service
projects throughout the school year in Lisbon and the greater
community,” comments Advisor, Monica Millhime. “Students meet every
other week at 7 a.m. to plan events and with the assistance of the
Rotary fellowship in Lewiston, every project has a positive impact and a
