Smoke & Mirrors Show Continues In Lisbon

BEWARE CHARTER CHANGES CONTINUE

At last night’s meeting, Mrs. Dot Fitzgerald asked the question “What does (3) regulate the rate at which a business or establishment may charge for its services mean?”  This is part of Question 1 on this year’s ballot.  Mrs. Fitzgerald went on to ask “Does this mean the town of Lisbon is going to tell a dentist how much too charge for each service he provides or how much a restaurant can charge for a meatloaf dinner?” Chairman Lunt and Evil Eldridge had no response and went on to say they will have to ask the town lawyer.  Mrs. Fitzgerald asks the council if they had even read this. 

The Town Council had absolutely no response and instead stated they would look into it.  Well, I hate to tell you this but the election is Tuesday and these issues are already on the ballot.  It certainly is too late to “look into it” now.  This clearly demonstrates the incompetency of Roger Therriault, Evil Eldridge, Bowie and the puppets.  

It is apparent; this council does not have a clue what they are doing and rely heavily on Therriault and Eldridge to lead them.  Well, lead them they have and see what damage they have done to this town.  All of the charter changes on Tuesday’s ballot are laced with wording to create more power for this council. This is what happens when you do not read what is put before you prior to voting to incorporate changes into the town charter.

I encourage every voter in Lisbon to vote no on every one of the Charter changes.  There is no telling how much damage can be inflicted on the citizens by the corrupt wording of these changes.  The citizens have a right to expect the councilors to read and understand the ramifications of their actions.

I want to thank Mrs. Fitzgerald for pointing out to the citizens and the town council the important significant of these charters changes on this year’s ballot.
