Corruption in Lisbon‏

Editor:     Mercuryx80 hit the nail on the head with his expletive describing what is happening in Lisbon.  We are in a recession which is not improving, private businesses are holding the line on salary increases and/or reducing hours or worse.  Yet the Town of Lisbon is upping salaries by thousands of dollars.  This is an affront to the taxpayers of Lisbon, but business as usual for Bowie and Brooks.  This idiotic council just lets this all happen without batting an eye.  Eldridge has let the budget surplus dwindle by millions and does what the B & B bas****s tell him.  He doesn't live here, doesn't have to pay the exorbitant taxes here, yet makes an obscene salary to do all this.  Bowie's wife has been given an outrageous salary increase, makes me wonder if she obtained her PHD or something.  Oh wait, she has only a high school diploma or GED.  Bowie tries to hide behind the fact that employees names cannot be mentioned at a public meeting, yet that has never stopped him in the past.  The Ethics panel is nothing more than a joke, or this would not be happening.  Apparently though, the joke is on us, Lisbon taxpayers, as we struggle to pay our taxes,  while certain employees, most with little education, reap the benefits of no council leadership or GUTS. What a corrupt town this is....

And there you have it once again.  We can't make this stuff up.  We can and have been trying to enlighten the masses by providing the information for the residents to ponder and take action.
