6-0 against St. Mikes.
Hounds’ defense kept the danger away from our goal the whole
game, especially during the second half when Lisbon’s goalie Ali Sult touched
the ball just three times. Center fullback Sydney Douglass lead the defense in
this shut out followed by stopper Sarah Daigle, left fullback Ciera Miller, and
right fullbacks Emily McIntosh and Zoe Feehan.
The Greyhounds won the battle for the middle field. They
played aggressively to steal the ball from the opponent and make good passes to
our offensive players, including center midfielder Chandler Riordan, left
midfielders Anna Willey and Amanda Storman, and right midfielders Jasmin Le and
Carly Drischler.
Forwards had their best game of the season so far. They made
good passes, sharp assists and killer shots to put the ball in the net six
times. Center forward Kipri Steele scored two, both of them using her right
foot to place powerful shots from the eighteen. Left forward Hope Morse scored
three, all of them passing dribbling the opponents’ right defender and taking a
cross shot from the left to the far post. Right forward Conchita Thomas scored
Lisbon’s last goal by putting the ball in the far post from the right after
dribbling past St. Mikes left fullback.
Lisbon Middle School Girls’ next game is on September 27th,
against Maranacook on their field.
