New "Lounge Chairs" for Lisbon's Dieing Comm. Center: Androscoggin Sheriff Gets Money For New Radios, Hmm Could There Be A USEFUL Match?

Special to The Lisbon Reporter by: Todd Comber

Ok, here we go the nuts and bolts of the situation at hand.  Lisbon taxpayers' have been paying hidden fees to maintain a Communication Center and Police Force far superior to anything in the neighboring towns. Why?  Cause Chief David T. Brooks is a little spoiled and is trying to build up a legacy from which he could retire.  The economical situation in this country was not hard to see coming years ago if one only had their eyes open to it.  Town Budgets cleverly crafted with slots for money to hide so no one would begin to question because one could not understand what it was for.  If you keep the people confused they will not question it right, Ol' Brooksy?

So now, thanks to Larry Fillmore and his posse, things are beginning to get uncovered that no official in town will be proud of.   About time as I always knew there was corruption but was having a difficult time balancing a personal life and health issues.

The saving of a life can at times come down to seconds and seconds matter. The Lisbon Communication Center is a second call for help as the initial 911 calls are not directed there; they are routed from other sources. Meaning precious seconds are wasted transferring these calls to the Lisbon Communication Center.
Tuesday night the town council will vote on purchasing new "Communication Center Modular Furniture Proposals"; see the agenda posted for yourself, if that is not too much to ask.   The Lisbon Communication Center is a dying hog.

It is not necessary. You all have been lied to by your own Chief of Police over the years and he has been backed up by a corrupt board of town officials.

Now the Androscoggin County Sheriff, Guy Desjardins has asked for and received more than $97000.00 by the County Commissioners through a unanimous vote to improve his radio communications equipment.  Doesn't that also say; they have no interest in Lisbon Communication Center?  So why should you taxpayers' have to support this absurd request for "Communication Center Modular Furniture Proposals" What are they day beds with drinks and donuts holders?

Androscoggin County to replace radio dispatching equipment

AUBURN — Beneath a layer of radio static, beeps and whistles, an Androscoggin County sheriff's deputy called for help.

Sheriff Guy Desjardins urges Androscoggin County Commissioners to approve spending more than $92,000 on replacement communications equipment for his department. Desjardins played clips from radio transmissions between dispatch and officers, where the deputies could not be heard through the static. The measure was approved in the emergency meeting Friday night. To see a video and to hear the clips, visit sunjournal.com/911console2012.

As Sheriff Guy Desjardins played the recording of an officer at the scene of a fatal traffic crash that happened Monday in Greene, he leaned forward to accentuate his warning.
"As sheriff, I just cannot allow this to continue," he said. "I can't. Not for the safety of my officers, not for the safety of the public. And I understand there's a big political issue here. I know that. But at the end of the day, I want my dispatch center in operation or I want it closed."
A few minutes later, he got what he asked for.
In a 3-0 vote, county commissioners approved spending more than $97,000 to fund two new radio consoles for the county dispatch center. The 1980s-era electronics will be replaced with a modern Motorola system meant to improve communication with deputies in the field.

Why don't you give up the Comm Center and consolidate with Androscoggin County saving lives and taxpayer's dollars?  You already are paying for their service but are receiving none of it. Because of the Boogieman's Legacy. Wake Up Lisbon!!!
