Middle School Girls Soccer Results & Pictures, 10/25/12, PWS vs St. Mike's‏

On October 25^th of 2012 Lisbon Middle School Girls Soccer won their last game in the season defeating St. Mike’s 5x0 on their turf and remained undefeated five games in a row.

The game was played mostly on St. Mike’s side of the field, but Hound’s defense knew how to stop the few attacks from the rival. Sweeper Sydney Douglass and Stopper Sarah Daigle played solidly to stop the skillful and versatile player number eight from the Saints, and rookies Zoe Feehan and Emily McIntosh also played very well and helped the defense to keep the shutout. The Greyhounds dominated the midfield. They stole many balls and made very good passes to our forwards, including Left Midfielders Jasmin Le and Anna Willey, Right Mid Emma Houle and Center Mid Chandler Riordan.

 

Hound’s offense line played a remarkable game. They showed great individual talent and effective teamwork to score five beautiful goals and end the season with a cherry on top. The first one came in the first half when Right Wing Conchita Thomas cut inside the defender with her right foot and shot with her left from the eighteen and put the ball in the far post. Left Wing Hope Morse scored two goals, the first by dribbling past two defenders and crossing the ball from the left in the far post, and the second by finishing a nice assist from the right made by Conchita Thomas. The fourth goal of the game happened when Center Forward Kelsea Benner received a great assist from Hope Morse at the penalty mark and kicked it in the goal, and the last when Right Mid Emma Houle carried the ball from the middle up to the end line and crossed it to Kipri Steele, who put it in the net kicking the ball between the goalie’s legs.

Lisbon Middle School Girls finished their season showing great improvement and with a final record of

6-4-2.
