US pouring military into the South 

"Criminal Networks" i.e. allies of the CIA

Since the US obsession with the Middle East which started with the first Gulf War in the early 1990s, Latin America's been given a chance to breathe a little.

The region has thrived and is arguably one of the most progressive in the entire developing world.

Well, it looks like that's about to change.

Now that the US "government" has succeeded in its mission to lay waste to the Middle East and is pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, all that money-burning, life-destroying mayhem has to go somewhere.

Traditionally, Latin America has operated as a release valve for US psychopaths.

After US troops were pulled out of Vietnam, the US initiated a wave of terror in the Latin America supporting every dictatorial thug and brutalizing every movement to make the place a better more equitable place to live.

Let's hope that history does not repeat itself, but with the "Drug War" bullshit (second only to the "War on Terror" bullshit) that the risk is all too real.
